[Rumor] Domas trade watch 2026

Well, that's comforting.

I think Toronto just has to look themselves in the mirror and realize that they royally screwed up their cap sheet for the next several years by making bad decisions and if they want somebody to come rescue them it's going to cost a ton. They can't cheap out of it. Sorry.
Exactly. Kings shouldn’t accept their garbage.

Washington wouldn’t be a bad landing spot for Domas. I think Sarr is the ideal big to put next to Sabonis and Trae is an ideal point guard to put next to Domas.

So while it’s weird that Washington are buyers when they’re so terrible. That would make sense.

But I’d hope to get one of their better prospects and some draft capital..as well as Middleton expiring

If it's the Wizards, they would have to do that around an expiring Middleton package. If they were going to throw in Sarr we could probably make things happen without too many additional picks (maybe a FRP and some of the 17 SRPs they control), if not...well, Will Riley and more picks, and I start at least thinking about it.

It could possibly work if Washington gets a top 5 pick in this draft. They're probably back in the playoffs if their pick hits and has an Edgecomb type rookie year while the other main pieces stay healthy.

Trae
George
Bilal
Sarr
Sabonis

That team makes the playoff next year in the east. Tre Johnson bombing threes off the bench with cam Whitmore being the high scoring 6th man. They have a couple other intriguing players too

Lol they arent trading Sarr let along adding picks.

Well, Washington just went for AD. Your move, Toronto.

Really surprised they went for AD over Sabonis. Makes somewhat sense if AD can stay healthy, which you know isn't going to happen.

I guess Trae and Sabonis wouldn't be the best pairing anyway. Takes away from a lot of the on court value that Sabonis has when you have a ball dominant PG.

Domas for Middleton doesn't quite work salary wise. You would need one more small salary player - Malachi Branham, Anthony Gill, Cam Whitmore or (gulp) Marvin Bagley are all expirings that could work as the second player.

The question then is draft compensation. Can you squeeze them for two picks? Or one pick (this year or next year top 6 protected) and a prospect like Bilal or Carrington (seems more expendable since they got Trae).

Or not. Lol. he Wizards dream was alive for 5 minutes.

I think they would’ve made a really good pick n roll combo. I don’t think Domas struggles with ball dominant point guards. I think he struggles with ball dominant point guards paired with ball dominant shooting guards and ball dominant small forwards and limited shooters.

Defense is another story but a switchable and rim protector like Sarr is about as ideal a big you can put next to Domas

I think the Wizards made a mistake. I thought they were on to something but they seem star struck. AD just can’t stay healthy.

I think Sarr is ideal next to him as well but you've really devalued Sabonis if you're mostly using him as a roll man.

Ouch. 1 year later and your haul for Luka is essentially 3 low FRPs.

They're luckier than hell they gor Flagg. Their organization likely never would have recovered this decade
Not only that but one of the two picks is a GSW 2030 pick that is top-20 protected. So...kinda maybe one FRP for AD.
