I don't buy it. Cousins likes Rudy, Rondo likes Rudy. If you're trying to bring Rondo to the team and compete for a playoff spot you need to keep Rudy. And we probably have enough cap space anyway. Somewhere around $8 million now plus we can get $4 million more if we buy out Landry's last 2 years and stretch it into 5. $12 million a year is more than enough to sign Rondo on a short-term deal right now. Heck, $8 million probably is. He doesn't have a lot of other options available. The team needs to make more moves than that, but we can deal JT, Nik, and Darren to add depth in the frontcourt. We shouldn't be that desperate to create cap space that we trade a productive (20ppg) veteran on a reasonable deal.
Also, this comes from the same Woj article that said George Karl is demanding a Cousins trade. That article has already been shot down by Vlade and George Karl. So this bit of news is guilty by association.
