Does anyone wonder........

Does anyone wonder if any of the Kings players read this board? And if they do are they forbid from posting on this forum?

I remember back a few years ago I used to play Ultima Online with Mike Matheny, and he was in our online "guild" for a year or so, and still is in touch with us every now and then. He was an active member on our forums, but never really talked baseball or anything.

I ask this because it seems that a lot of our concerns and critiques are met with good play by the specific player that was being talked about. Anyone ever wonder this? Or wonder if a person here is an actual Kings player?

Well, if they do read, I doubt they are looking for tips on improving their play;)
Chris used to read one of the yahoo groups, but would only post messages through his brother.

1. Yes, at least some of them read it - on an occasional basis and usually when there's something really funny about one or more of them. (That's what I've been told, anyway.)
2. No, they are not forbidden from posting but most of them won't. They actually have lives and much better things to do than spend hours on fan message boards. ;)

I'm pretty sure the players are interested in seeing what the fans think every now and then. It wouldn't surprise me if some of them left a message every once in a while...anonymously of course.

GO KINGS!

I suppose it is a good thing that most of the really nasty "KingsFans critics" seldom post here anymore. I also suppose that it is a good idea for some of us to tone-down the really emotional criticisms of players. I am guilty-as-charged regarding that issue. Chris used to drive me to distraction in the early years, but now I really appreciate the guy, on court and off.

I should be OK so long as Brad doesn't make pouty faces and throw himself around. Peja has become a Mensch, so I got no complaints.

I heard Napear say that he checked the "internet forums in Sacramento" to see what the fans thought of the Doug for Mobley & Bradley trade. I can't imagine Kings NOT being interested in what fans think, and what better avenue for them to find out, then checking on-line???

The really emotional criticisms aren't a problem IMHO unless they're blatantly just player hatred. Luckily, around here those kinds of people quickly realize our board is about so much more than that type of stuff. At various times, various players have done things that we're gonna talk about and some of us are going to be emotional about it. That can be done without the extreme hostility and that's just one of the things I like about the people who post here.

:D

OHSacFan - What am I trying to say? Hmmmmm. Well um... err... I don't think they have Internet access in the practice facility and I just know and firmly believe they spend most of their off-hours there making their games better?

:p

Okay, it's weak but it's all I got.

Plus, if I could spend my time, say...shopping with my millions...I'm sure my time may be spent elsewhere as well.

My FREE time, that is. ;)

Freethrows, VF, freethrows. Its is obvious by the result we have see on the court that all the Kings have been spending their time perfecting that stroke at the charity stripe....:)

I asked the question because it seems that when the fans are passionate about certain things they do get addressed, but I was thinking it was either us pointing out the obvious or the players/management reading what we have to say.

I know we have a lot of gurus out here that are capable of making organizational decisions so it's 1000 brains vs. 5 or 6... If I owned a company I would love to go to a site like this to get ideas, and see what we need to do to improve. Plus it is all free of charge! (ideas that is)

I wouldn't be suprised. i've heard that celebs lurk/post online to get honest opinions about themselves, interact with fans, etc.

I'm sorry, but if the 5 or 6 brains that are running the team are looking to an internet fan site for ideas, we are in deep, deep dookie. I think you have it right when you say we are pointing out the obvious.

If he comes back, Insomniacal Fan, I'm holding you personally responsible!!!

Now's the time to check all our posts to see if we didn't put anything about the players..

Why? If you post something about a player, provided it's not a personal attack, profanity, blatant player hate, etc. it's perfectly valid on a message board. In fact, it's why we come here.

I wouldn't blow this all out of proportion. We are a few anonymous - for the most part ;) - fans on the Internet. I don't think any of the players are so fragile that they can't stand to read a few comments about how we perceive them.

:D
