Do the Kings need Rudy Gay?

Before you call me a homophobic, this Gay refers to Rudy Gay--the projected #1 college basketball player available for the next draft. He has been compared to Grant Hill. Grant Hill was pretty good in his younger day. Too bad Rudy Gay is not a can't miss like Shaq, Tim Duncan, or Lebron James. Otherwise, I would be in favor of the Kings tanking the season in order to get a bona fide superstar to build around.

I know it is too early to talk about the draft but our current situation is almost bad as the Knicks (0-4 with a sky high team salary). So, I couldn't resist thinking about the possibilities of getting a high draft pick. Realistically, I think the Kings will end up being one of those teams that just miss the playoff or get the 8th seed.

the kings are not gonna be a lottery team this season unless they tank it purposefully. they may lose enough games that they get a halfway decent draft pick, so my suggestion to geoff petrie is to scout the draft and overseas pools effectively and smartly this season.
