Padrino said:cuz we all know thats the most important thing this season. forget how many wins the kings get...as long as peja's happy, everybody's happy.

BonziFan said:I only said that because he would probably convert to that MVP form he was in when Vlade was here.
Padrino said:eh....i assure you, in a contract year, peja's gonna play his *** off no matter what. he doesnt need to be coddled anymore, and he wont (at least i hope he wont). he's gonna have to earn the big contract he's sure to get from the kings.
wow22 said:Divac would not be a great or reliable player anymore, but he would be a locker room presence, and the kings need that. Think avery johnson for dallas and golden state 2 years ago...
sloter said:Yeah, it appears that Divac is going to finish his career either as a player or a licensed player who wont play (but will most likely mentor some of the young promising centers) in Partizan, the club where he started.
Finally, one Serbian star keeps his promise about coming back for one final year in his home club!

VF21 said:Sorry, but I still think you're wrong. Having Vlade back in the locker room would mean very little to this new crew of Kings. Most of them have never stepped on the court with him as Kings.
VF21 said:I have a lot of respect and admiration for Vlade.
Having said that, I do not think his presence would mean the same as it would have before. The team is moving in a different, hungrier direction. Vlade isn't the right presence for the locker room at this point in time, IMHO. Bringing him back now would simply be the wrong move. It's too soon... If the Maloofs and Petrie are going to make the new dynamic work, they have to keep moving forward.
And quite frankly, I think bringing Vlade back would be the absolute worst thing for Peja. He has to stand up by himself on his hind legs some time, and if not now, it probably won't ever happen.
We do agree on one thing. Regardless of why, I fully agree with you that it won't happen.
DocHolliday said:If you could take Vlade's skill set as a player:
-Playing with his back to the basket
-Passing
-is baby hook, and other inside shots
-leadership
And put it in a strong and athletic body and be able to
-finish strong at the rim
-back people down better
-not have to flop
That would be one of the most dominant centers in the league
If Vlade can teach someone his skills, bring him back as some sort of coach. Just as long as it's not the Strength and Condition coach lol.

The Kings are moving forward. You have to accept that and just let them do it. Vlade today is not Vlade of two years ago; the Kings of today are not the Kings of two (or more) years ago. Let him go with fond memories and gratitude for what he did for us, the fans, the Kings and the NBA in general.
Some day his number will hang in the rafters of Arco, and that will be a good thing.
