Ah... Warhawk... I think you had the list I put as #1... You have some great authors in a wide variety of genres; can't say I am a fan of Hawking, though... I have always felt like his books were great, on the premise that you believe that Hawking is the smartest man to ever live... if you don't believe that, Hawking just sounds like everyone else out there. Other than Hawking, I am down with the rest of your authors... great job.

Hey NoBonus - your list was very high on my ranking as well. I especially liked Stan Lee and Sun Tzu as picks. Also some others like Jack London and Douglas Adams. Your King Solomon and Paul the Apostle were inspired! Well played.

I guess I missed out on the suggestion part of this thread. Since none of my favorite authors are on the list, I won't vote. If forced to choose, it would probably be between Michael Crichton or Frank Herbert. My personal favorite author is Nelson DeMille, followed closely by Michael Connelly. But then, I love authors that can tell a good story, make me laugh out loud, and at the same time, amaze me with their writing skills.

NoBonus - thumbs up for the EC Comics/Mad magazine love as I need to deal with paring down (or not) my collection; I'd definitely keep them if I were on a desert island...
