You would think if Denver really want Songalia, they would get him in a sign and trade as the Kings can match their offer. If they want to out-bid the Kings, they can, but I would think Kiki V. and Petrie would figure out a more economically sound plan. That's just my opinion as an outsider though. Who is available at a similar projected salary level? I assume Nene and Carmello are out... unless it is a Songalia and Peja trade for Nene and Carmello... just a stupid idea. I realize those who use realgm will refute this quickly.

Songaila or KT will not be with the Kings when the season opens. For alot of reasons I would rather have Darius than KT (money, attitude, etc), but that may not happen.

I agree at least on the money part. There has been conflicting information about the attitude part concerning KT.

hoopshype has denver at just over $38 million, but they don't include Andre Miller's or the new signed rookie center salary. So I am not sure exactly how much flexiblity they have.

If that's the case, then the only way for them to pick up Songalia is to sign and trade... do they have anyone worth trading for? Maybe they would like a package deal of some sort.. any ideas?

Rocky Mountain News - Agent Mark Bartelstein said the Nuggets have shown interest in free-agent clients Darius Songaila, a Sacramento Kings forward who is restricted, and Mikki Moore, a Los Angeles Clippers center who is unrestricted.

Don't see why they'd go after Moore, unless they pushing Elson back or letting him go, and moving Nene up to back-up center more.

Elson would solve our back-up center problems, and I like him . There is also Greg Buckner, he's a free-agent, and can play both SG/SF. He'd be a good (and better) back-up for Bonzi.

I love what Songaila brings, but in general if he's gone, won't be that disappointed.

Elson's not a free-agent. Buckner is an unrestricted free-agent though. I'd absolutely love to see either in a Kings uni.

Elson's salary for 05-06 (last year of contract): $719,373

Oops,

I am confused on Elson. Hoopshype shows his salary but ESPN had him without salary protection for '05-'06. Brick also had him listed as a FA on his list and I'm not sure what led him to put him there.

What the heck, at Elson's salary we'll just take 'em both............
