Deng and Piatkowski Deactivated

Communication on the court is vital. Without communication, injuries can ensue...:(

Chicago Bulls forward Luol Deng and backup guard Eric Piatkowski were placed on the inactive list before Saturday's game against Philadelphia after a collision during the morning shootaround left both players with concussions.

Piatkowski also had a laceration that required "at least 15, maybe almost 20 stitches" in the forehead, coach Scott Skiles said. Both players are day-to-day.

Deng is the Bulls' third-leading scorer, averaging 13.9 points, and has started 56 games. Piatkowski has appeared in 25 games.

"It was a freak accident that I had never seen before," Skiles said. "We were doing offense at two different ends, two different teams. Both teams threw the ball at the same time in the backcourt, while both players went for it."

I heard about this while watching the Bulls-Sixers game and my first thought was that sounds so like a Kings turnip.

Chicago Tribune - Luol Deng shot some baskets and did some light running as he is recovering from a concussion.

"I'm just a little bit out of it, a little light-headed," he said after the Bulls' 96-90 victory. "I guess that's supposed to happen."

Deng hopes to return for Friday's game against the Wizards at the United Center.
