Demarcus FREAKING Cousins

With the lone possible exception of a shotblocker, because there is no way to get one of those as cheaply as you can in the draft. On the open market its $9mil and up. if you can get one for 4 years at $3mil per, you are doing real well.
The thing is that aside from Embiid (who's now a dark horse favorite for the number one pick and hasn't thus far displayed amazing block numbers) and WCS, the talent in the lottery of this talented draft isn't necessarily shotblocking oriented. In other words, unless we're lucky shotblocking bigs maybe something we'll need to look elsewhere for this year.

WAIT WAIT WAIT. We're winning?? This is not good.. There are 7 teams behind us.. 6/7 are from the east. Wow they're tanking really bad. But the point is, this 2014 NBA draft is going to be booming with prospects in the top 7, Parker, Wiggins, Embiid, Randle, Smart, Exum, and Gordon in no particular order. Then comes in the wave of the sub-booming prospects, Willie Cauley-Stein and the Harrison twins. I think if we land outside of the top 8 range then we should trade our pick back for two 1st rounders. I think there are several teams this year who might get multiple 1st rounders. One in the mid round and later round.

Kings need to get back in tank mode!

This is a thread about Demarcus Cousins. There are about a bazillion different threads about potential draft picks, etc. You may be new but the topic isn't and has, in fact, been done many, many, many, many times.

I am guessing new fans here kinda means something doesn't it? It's the fans of the next big thing that gets annoying. I'd rather be a fan of the big thing we have here now

Nah, although losing brings back a better prospect , these players need to get used to winning. The culture needed to change big time as players were becoming too complacent with losing which is not good. Bring on the wins gimme Cauley-Stein and Im a happy man
I love these wins, but at the same time I don't. Even if we get to a 35-40 game winning season, it's improvement, but it might take us out of the draft and we wouldn't even make the playoffs. We're stuck because we owe the Cavs a top 12 protected first rounder. Without the draft, we would just have to depend on FA and good trades for improvement. Another thought is if Gay decides to opt out or not. I think the Lakers are a desperate team who could pay him the same amount or slightly less and become a contending team with him. If he does that, then we are back at point A.

It's Petrie's fault or I wouldn't even be mad!

Doh! Poor Omri. Talk about posterized...this is facebookized:

So you're going to forgo enjoying a win because you're afraid of what it might do to our draft position? Seriously?

Whether or not you celebrate a good game and a win will have NO relevance on our draft pick. I guarantee it.

The Lakers are in trouble. There is no way that any superstars are going to want to go to LA to play with a hobbling Kobe for the next two years, and my guess is that all the star players are less than impressed with the new Laker ownership. Everyone thinks that the Lakers are just going to 'bounce back' to an elite level in a year or two, but I'm skeptical that will actually happen.
What what I understand Gay feels as if he's been paid. So I don't see him going to LA to play with Kobe for a couple of million more when he can stay with Cousins and a team on the rise.

The great thing about the NBA draft is it happens every year. Sure this year has some game changers in it but at this rate, I'm not sure we need one anymore. It's not like I'd refuse Andrew Wiggins if he showed up on our roster but a role player type like WCS may help our team more at this current juncture than another big dog vying for touches.

Whenever the kings win, it's always a good day. However, we also have to remember that we're still a lottery team. I'd rather have a losing this season and be competitive for years to come vs. having a decent/winning season this year and a lottery team for years after. We already have great pieces in set, and this up coming lottery is going to be huge. A team like the Warriors haven't been relevant since the late 1980s-early 1990s, and have now built a playoff team through tanking and trades.

I never said there was anything wrong with celebrating this win... loved the way DMC owned up to Howard at the end. DMC is top 3 center without a doubt and should get an all star spot

The Warriors stopped sucking because they managed to exile Don Nelson to Hawaii and replaced their sucktastic owner with ones that actually cared.
