DeMarcus Cousins

But seriously, where is that troll who said Cousins was a bust and should be traded for the leftover pickles from a drunk dude's burger?

For this team to win consistently in the next couple years, it's going to have to be on the back of Mr. Cousins. You can build a team around a good center a lot easier than any other position. If he keeps getting better, we have a shot to be a lot better next year.

That song Monster by Kanye West? He wrote it about Cousins.

Warning: explicit lyrics ahead

You know what was truly impressive?

Cousins did a great majority of his work in the 4th quarter with 5 fouls. I was really surprised when Westphal kept Cousins in the game after picking up his 5th foul, but Cousins did a great job not picking it up. Cousins did get lucky not picking up an offensive foul when he bowled over Gortat, but beyond that one play, he continued to carry the team while playing under control. So all around, you have to be tremendously impressed with what Demarcus did on the floor tonight, especially in the fourth quarter.

It's pretty clear that when Cousins touches the ball and the ball goes through him, the Kings look so much better. Especially when our players hit their open shots. It's so beautiful to watch them, you wonder why they go away from it, and they do it every single time.

QUESTION: Can he do this every night and just take this team over and be the new SHAQ of '96?

That's a bit unfair...Shaq is one of the best players in the history of the NBA.

Shaq was one of the best players in the history of the NBA. The old Shaq that is currently lumbering up and down the court for the Celtics is not the same as the one who was Blake Griffin with an extra hundred pounds and an extra half foot of height.

Nice game for DMC! 28 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and hit all of his FTs! SWEET! He's gaining confidence. Its going to be fun watching this kid beast on teams. Go Kings!

He's getting better every game.

DMC is a beast, and the rest of the NBA is just going to have to deal with it.

I think Cousins has the physical ability, talent, and feel for the game to be one of the greats. Maybe not top 10 all time, but definitely top 20. Unfortunately I don't think he has the physical ability to be the type of defender he needs to be to be a top 10 guy.

I have no doubts. I said it last night. Last year our best player was our top rookie. This year our best player is our top rookie. I know it was talked about a little. But when Cousins blocked that dunk of Carters after the play and walk toward him that was Vince Carter numerous all star games and a Rookie in cousins saying I aint playing that **it boy. It was significant to me and I can't wait till we play Boston and see out Cousins handles the smack talk of Garnett and Shaq.

My only complaint (though not a very legit one) is that he hardly dunks the ball. Why do both our two supposed future superstars lack hops :(

Not every big man can be Blake Griffin. DeMarcus has the capabilities of being an absolute technician in the paint (kinda like what all of us thought Spencer Hawes was going to be for some reason) and if he absolutely pulverizes people will his skils like he did last night, I think we can possibly find it in our hearts to forgive DeMarcus for not have rockets attached to his sneakers.

yeah, if forced to, i would be able to screw up my face and accept a young Tim Duncan.

Tryus Thomas has hops. You want to trade Cousins for him. Larry Bird didn't have any hops. Vlade didn't have any hops. People passed on Kevin Love because he didn't have any hops. The only thing I know for sure that hops will get you every time is a good glass of beer. So they're not overrated. :D

It's not like Cousins doesn't have any hops (ala Tyreke). He already showed that he can dunk it with emphasis. He just doesn't jump as high as other bigs in this league.
