This is fun. Here's what this thread is like.
So you and some of your friends headed down to your local favorite bar. Some guy just comes in and sits next to you and your friends, then he starts saying why he thinks Kentucky bourbon makes the lemon juice taste worse. Your friends tell him that maybe it's not the Kentucky bourbon's fault that his lemon juice taste worse, then he goes on and tells you that he knows his Kentucky bourbon, he frequents bars and several times Kentucky bourbon makes the lemon juice taste worse, and he shoos you away when you said you're tired of this conversation,
"Hey, this is what a bar is for, if you don't like it, you don't have to participate."

Well new posters usually decide to write their first post, when they have a dissenting opinion from the majority. Because the most heated debate on this forum constantly evolves around our best player in DMC with the majority of the long term users clearly being supportive to Cuz, it isn't suprising, that most new posters start with a few "anti" Cousins posts.
I think it's always interesting to read something different. If it takes a few tiresome "the good and the bad of DMC" topics to maybe get a new, vocal user on this board to discuss the Kings - so be it.
A little more substance would be great, but do we really believe, there is anything substantial in regards to the good and the bad of Cousins, that hasn't been mentioned by our beloved Blob before? Those lengthy posts spiced with statlines I barely understand have to be worth something right?

I don't say anything of the sort, and understand if I were to eventually decide that you are not here to contribute anything but rather just to troll our best player, I do have the power to take corrective action. So my advice would be to try not being tiresome.

If I'd already decided to boot you, it would already be done. There is no reason it has to happen unless that's the way you want it to go. Quit trolling and you can stay as long as you like.

DMC's attitude and constant crying has so grated on me that now I really hope he's traded ASAP. I'm sick as crap of this team treading water. Fire the entire FO, coaches......everyone. Even Joan in reception. Go out and raid San Antonio's or Golden State's FO. Bring some people in who know how to build a team correctly. However, it all starts with boogie. Grant and Christie agreed on this one point last week, in today's NBA, you cannot build a team around a big man. Not gonna happen. Boogie has to go.
I rather doubt that Doug agreed with any such thing beyond his inner submissive coming out.
That's obsolete thinking anyway. A product of about 5 years of crapty chuckerball seized upon by foolish live in the moment twits.. We're entering a new new era now. Teams are and will be built around Cousins and Davis and Embiid and Towns and quite possibly Porzingis. And frankly if I know the NBA at all, and I do, at some point if their marketable superstar bigs are being held back by the current rules environment, magically things will start being tweaked. Funny how that works.

Yes I'm questioning our most important player. Yes I read many threads and I very well did so without commenting. Now I see that you used to espouse the improvement in the roster but can't stand being questioned when it doesn't turn out that way. My arrogance sure only matches yours. Funny how it is trolling only when I bring up points to dispute your shared opinion. I'll try to stay in the Cousins is awesome lane from now on. Lame.

those who view demarcus cousins as the source of the kings' problems were convinced a long time ago, and they are unlikely to change their minds. if there's one big losing battle around here, it's in trying to convince them otherwise.
personally, i've seen growth this season in the areas i've criticized demarcus for in the past. too often, it used to be that cousins would consistently fail to recognize when he should pass out of the double-team. he was a black hole on offense, and unwilling to trust or involve his less talented teammates. that's rapidly changing. if george karl helped to unlock cousins' outside shooting prowess, dave joerger is helping to unlock cousins' court vision and ball movement. cousins is trusting his teammates more than ever before (despite this being one of the least-talented rosters during his tenure as a king), and making the game much easier for them. to claim that he "brings others down" is silly when just about every statistical measure suggests that he makes his teammates better.
sure, demarcus can get careless with the ball from time to time, and he'll throw the occasional ill-advised pass that leads to a turnover, but his willingness to consistently involve his teammates is a considerable step forward in the evolution of his leadership. he's assisting on nearly a quarter of the kings' made field goals when he's on the floor this season! that constitutes a career high, and it's not even close. it's a damn shame that the roster is so bereft of talent outside of cousins. surround this version of big cuz with capable shooters and defenders, and the league would be on instant notice.

The good news is that the intent to surround him with shooters and defensive specialists appears to be there. The execution of that roster building strategy leaves a lot to be desired right now, but this is at least a strategy that could work with more talented players. As I've said before, the talent that he brought in on draft day last year looks surprisingly promising for all the flak Vlade got about it at the time (and throughout the summer). Richardson and Bogdanovic are both shooters with some defensive tools. Labissiere can block shots and hit long jumpers. Papagiannis looks like an old school bruiser in the post who could grow into Koufos' role as he matures. We have some pieces here -- it'd be nice if they were more NBA ready but that's hard to find in the draft. We're going to need to shuffle the vets around Cuz though until we find a mix that works or some of the young guys step up.
