Guy is all about his brand, it's over. When spurs don't want him they will trade him too. He's going to the Spurs not the Lakers. They are not Hollywood and the only person who will be getting credit for winning is Wimbly.

Wimbly doesn't utilize his size nearly enough and takes way too many jumpers for my liking. I domt think this marriage will have a happy ending

Mike Brown's firing happened after key indicators Fox was out - namely the Draymond show and the Rich Paul meeting - so I'm not taking anything Fox says at face value right now.

Found on Reddit that apparently D-Lo said a while back MB was told to fire either Loucks or Triano. Which is really weird but seems like a way to elevate DC to the top of the bench (for when MB would be fired) while also pissing off Fox.

I sure don't. Brown was collateral damage. Fox wasn't trying to get MB fired, but his play sure didn't help MB keep his job.

I think Fox ideally wanted the Kings season to implode from his lackadaisical play and the Kings going nowhere fast, so that he can look like the good guy that just wanted to win. He didn't want MB to get fired but the Kings season was sunk at that point and a change needed to be made. And once the season turned around with DC as coach, he quickly pivoted to having his team leak that the Kings approached teams about trading for him and to his surprise, that team was SA!!! Pure coincidence I'm sure, NOT!!!

He couldn't risk the Kings waiting until the summer to trade him, because it would decrease the contract he could sign with SA. I don't believe any of the BS that Fox is spewing now. It's all spin. He checked out at the beginning of the year.

Ironically, if Fox hadn't fallen asleep on that 4 pt losing final play against Detroit, I don't know that Brown would have been fired before the end of the season,....because a win there would have broke the losing streak. The big stated reason for the firing was that losing streak at home

I don't think so. He just looked unfocused and distracted, then panicked as soon as the ball was passed to Ivey...and he ran out there and jumped at the shot fake.

The shear timing of when that occurred was a peak (Kang's) ironic moment. Almost couldn't have written up that whole scenario in a believable way.....but it really happened. Almost as if it was meant to be, for whatever reason

By my count 4 players have signed the DVE and gone on to win a championship after signing (Jaylen Brown, Steph Curry, Giannis and Nicola Jokic). Jason Tatum signed one immediately after winning a championship last year.

The others are: Russ, Harden, Wall, Dame, Gobert, Embiid, Booker, and KAT.

Players who refused to sign one include Kawhi and AD who immediately won chips with their next team.

Anyways, the track record for winning after signing this extension is not good. The Celtics already had a Finals appearance before Brown signed, Steph already had several rings, and Giannis and Nicola were widely regarded the two best players in the league. Winning obviously wasn’t Fox’s motivation since he quit once we started winning. His long goal was to go to SA. I think he was 100% committed for THIS year, knowing Brown would use him at a high rate to boost his stats, make the all star team, and get that super max. THEN force his way out later. But once he realized none of that was happening he checked out and wanted out now using the firing of MB or “Monte never improved the team” excuses to make himself not the bad guy.

I believe any chance of him staying ended with Mike Brown getting fired. The team record before that was disappointing but the team was playing well enough to be top 6 in the West up to that point based on Net Rating which is usually a good predictor if which teams will not only make the playoffs but win when they get there. I don't understand why moves like the Valanciunas and LaRavia deals couldn't have been made in December instead of jumping right to firing the coach.

I also don't understand how the front office could be that dead set on a "win now" mind-set that they're willing to fire the coach that they just gave a 3 year extension to over a 6 or 7 game losing streak in December and yet they didn't make it a priority to get Fox's finger fixed on his shooting hand?! That is truly baffling to me. He's your primary ballhandler and face of the franchise and you want him to play an entire season with a jacked up finger? The lack of leadership and accountability up and down this organization has never been more apparent.

He said he wasn't going to play for another coach in Sacramento. And the franchise he picked is the one with the longest tenured head coach in the league so the idea that coaching was a priority for him checks out to me. Granted Pop's future is up in the air right now but he's about as close to a Mike Brown style coach as you're likely to find, because Mike Brown was his protege.
