Star treatment doesn't play much of a role, but playing to the strengths of your rookies does. Ball's biggest strength is his ability to push the ball up the court quickly. Lakers are playing at a high pace (3rd in the league).
Randle, Nance, Kuzma, Ingram, Hart and Clarkson are some decent, young running mates. They have some vets, that fit in decently in Brewer and Caldwell Pope and while Lopez or Bogut don't run the floor very well, both give them something else - floor spacing in Lopez's case and rim protection and a big body in boguts case, who is also used to play in uptempo systems, because of his time with the Warriors.
