That was certainly something you didn't want to hear in as plain of terms as he said it. It indeed might have been more about not wanting to make it all about the money, but you always kind of want to just leave it at, "I'm not going anywhere" kind of stuff as a fan. Then again, he also might be setting the table for hardlining on the money offer. I mean, what does Fox want? They traded Haliburton for him essentially. They signed DeMar. They traded picks for win now types. I can't wait for he and Carter to do battle in practice. Might put some things in perspective for Foxy.
I mean, he can give the "I want to win speech" all he wants... but everyone knows that he's waiting if he gets the All-NBA bid and is eligible for what? Like another 120 mil or something?
And even still, Foxy doesn't bring it every night like the top of the league does. When he's at his best, there's very few better than him in the league; if anybody. But he just doesn't have bad games here or there, he's had bad months over the last few seasons. His January was abysmal for his standards.
I look at Domas's consistency every single damn night and just wonder how you bring that out in Fox. Even when the rest of the team is sleep-walking, Domas is always out there working his ass off and playing harder than anyone else. You can probably count the truly bad games from Domas in a Kings uni on 2 hands. He's his elite All-NBA self, 95% of the time. That's the last piece of the puzzle for Fox; how does he find that gear to be elite in 90-95% of his games and truly is that top 10 guy.
