Thanx ......

It's funny ... I haven't heard or read about it ... and I listen alot to KHTK and KNBR ... musta' missed that show.

If you've been reading insidehoops, hoopshype, realgm, often or sometimes since July, you'd know.

You're talking about RUMORS. The sites you mentioned are NOT news sites. Most of the articles are written by other fans. RealGM does have links to other sites, but to call them a news site on their own is a misnomer.

News sites include ESPN, Yahoo sports, CBSPORTSLINE, NBA.com, etc. Prety substantial difference.

Uh, no.

News and rumors... clearly says on those sites (not hoopshype, but there is news on there quite a bit). From the gathering of stuff that is and has been posted, it's clear there is news as well.

Having interest or "wanting" of a player is news, it's reported that way. Especially if it's reported more than once.

Regardless, it's been reported many times that teams want and have interest in Songaila.

If you say so...

Most of the "articles" posted on those sites are written by FANS and not actual sports journalists.

Back to the topic at hand, since we have a qualifying offer on the table to Darius, I'll be interested in seeing if any of those reported teams does actually better the offer. I like Darius, but he's not exactly the missing piece to anyone's playoff picture puzzle.

No, I mean the reports. Not the team articles and columns on realgm or anywhere else. They get their stuff from the city newspapers, aside from Locked On Sports, which I don't know what that is.

Yes, back on topic. ;)

Actually hoopshyope has a very comprehensive news section where they collect all the NBA related articles around the league every day. Very useful, and entirely separate from their little amateur articles. They call it "rumors", but its just all the beat writers and columinsts around the league collectred in one spot -- would imagine they probably have fans in every city who submit them as they appear in their local papers.

Then I stand corrected...

The few times I've followed links to hoopshype it has invariably led to some blatherings from someone who has the basketball acumen of the raccoon who steals cat food off my back porch.

http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm

They update it every morning about 9:00ET. That and the salary info are the main things I use that site for.

I am not sure if anything has been said before, but really why do we need to keep darius? he would be the fifth guy at PF/C, he is limited.

If anything, I would rather keep maurice evans at sg/sf

I guess I say this because at sg we pretty much have two 22-year old rooks. Kings' starting 5 average age is 29... that's 7 years. Maurice showed he is more than ready and fits greatly, and I will go on a limb as to say that Adelman would rather play him than the youngins.

I wouldn't mind and would rather someone who's solid/good and has some experience over K-Mart backing up Bonzi. Just a bit more. But as I've said, I'd be fine with K-Mart there.

I'd take Mo back in a heartbeat, and so would the Kings for the mininum. But, Mo is sadly out of our reach. :/

if we could only trade thomas and corliss.... but who would we trade for? what position would the player play? if we trade the 2 for a big man we still wouldnt need darius.... maybe trade for a back up center and sf..... wonder if minny would take thomas for kandi?

that'd be cool....

I wouldn't really mind Kandi coming to the Kings. Attitude problems I think would be lessened

Skinner could be our back-up PF.

I see us getting two new players, and maybe a third. Don't think Minny would take KT though, with the horde of big men they already have, and their two free-agents they could re-sign (them wanting Reggie Evans is absolutely ridiculous, and is laughable).

Kandi is an idiot in basketball terms. Would be one of the hardest fits for our system in the entire league. He's just a mess.

As for Minny's frontcourt -- really like what they've done. Very interesting and multifaceted if they pick up Evans -- don't actually have a huge glut, just a lot of different looks. KG of course, Kandiman for one more year -- sure they wish he wasn't/ But Griffin = long and athletic shotblocker, Skita = long wannabe Dirkesque shooter, and potentially Evans as short mega rebounder.

I just don't see Evans going there at all because of how loaded they already are with bigs.

Thye've only got three known contributors (KG, Griffin, Kandiman) and of those three they would very much like Kandiman to jump off a cliff, and both the other guys can swing down to SF. Really not that many minutes taken up right now, and Evans is only about a 24min a game player.

They also have Dwayne Jones and Nikoloz... possibly one of their two FA big men to be re-signed too.

I just can't see Reggie going to Minny happening, if it does I'll be very surprised. He's also an RFA. That's how I've always felt and do, on that since it arose.
