What in the hell are the Blazers gonna do with Jrue? And does trading Jrue‘s defense for Dame’s offense make the Bucks that much better overall?

Per Woj they're looking to trade him. I wouldn't mind getting him on the cheap but it would almost certainly eat into Davion's minutes

At $36M, I don't think there's any way to get him on the cheap. We don't have useless money to throw around. We wouldn't send Fox or Domas or Keegan. There's nothing that makes sense that obviously jumps out at me.

I feel like this isn’t the best package Dame could have returned but F Miami though?
Makes sense when you consider that everyone and their mom went out of their way to convince you that the Blazers really really really liked Ayton for some reason though (and getting out from under the Nurk contract early). Plus I’m guessing they think they can get more draft compensation for Jrue than they would have gotten from just moving Same for picks alone.

No doubt about it getting off Nurk is pretty huge, it's like getting rid of Buddy was for us. Ayton and Grant assuming they stick around will give the young guys people who should at least complete their assists.

But yeah, I do think that moving Jrue in a new deal is probably in the cards. Could be a deadline deal for picks because he might be able to teach the young guys a thing or two.

Also team will certainly get a high lottery pick of their own this year and possibly next. I remain unsold on Sharpe for now but I think Scoot is the real deal.

The Heat subreddit certainly seems to feel that way. Miami could've been a legit contender with Dame but making the Bucks that much stronger kinda screws any hope they have of winning the conference again anytime soon

There were Heat fans on TwitterX yesterday saying Herro would be an All Star in Portland which is hilarious considering Fox had to get in as last minute replacement to the replacement or whatever his stupid path was. I think he's suddenly a lock with Dame gone.

I hope Heat fans are drowning in their tears.

But I'd have liked to see Jaime Jaquez and Jovic here.

Yeah, I kind of like them holding Jrue to mentor Scoot and Sharpe, for at least half a season anyway. And they're obviously not tanking since they acquired Ayton, who's headed for his prime along with Grant's huge deal.

Scoot
Jrue
Sharpe
Grant
Ayton.

Can't shoot worth a damn, but that's a fairly talented starting 5, especially if the young guys pop.
