Curious about what these teams will do...

K well the offseason is approaching as well know and there are a lot of teams that are close to being good or awful(or they're like the knicks and just close to being less awful) like TWolves, Sixers, etc. What do you think they they'll do?What should they do? Well yeah I guess I'll talk about it in this topic I made...

edit: and if you don't feel like reading all this stuff I'll understand...

TWolves: The twolves need more scorers but Mccants has proven he can score. Do you move Ricky Davis(who plays in front of him) for a good PG/scoring PG so Mccants can get time? What about Trenton Hassel? This guy is a good defender but he's no scorer. IMO there defense is good enough with KG anchoring it anyways but I don't watch the wolves that much. Would you trade him for something they need? They have big holes at PG and C. What about their draft pick? Do they trade it for another player to put around KG or do they keep it and try to draft one of their needs(PG/C) like a Patrick O'bryant or someone?

Denver: Man this team should've been so much better this year. Yeah they had injuries but they had a chance to put more shooters/defenders around Carmello. They could've made the trade for Cat which would've been really good considering Nene tore his knee up anyways. IMO they should've done that and traded Andre Miller instead of Earl Watson because Watson can shoot and play defense(2 things Andre doesn't know how to do). What do they do with Kenyon(another player Karl has alienated) now that they've basically made a return for him impossible? That situation has gotten pretty messy and IMO too messy for Kenyon to return. How are they going to get the shooters to put around Carmello now? I think they re-sign Nene because he's young and he'll be a good fit with Carmello for years to come. Do you try to trade Andre for a shooter? Obviously you're not going to get much back for Kenyon now. What do you think this team should do?

76ers: Another team that should've been better. Do you get the defensive role players to try to make one last run with Iverson? That is the only way I see him making another run with the 6ers. What do you do with Chris? Who wants a 33 year old that can't play D and makes 20 million dollars? I'm not trying to diss Chris but I don't see a GM that is going to take on his contract untill it's a big expiring considering he's 33 and can't defend. Would the knicks do it? Do the knicks have anything that would help the sixers anyways? Can Andre Iguodala blossom into the star he should be able to be with his athleticism? Do you choose him over Iverson and Chris even though the team would probably be awful the next few years and the fans are already angry/not coming to the games? Who would you draft? Do you trade the pick to put another player around Iverson? This team has so many holes it's not even funny. What do they do?

Utah Jazz: This team should've been better but Boozer is an overpaid injury prone bum that can't play half a season. I'm pretty sure they'll try to trade him and I know he wants to go to the lakers(he has a house in LA and loves it there). Then again who would the Jazz want? Odom? Why would the lakers trade a guy who's been playing great the last couple months of the season for a guy who might not even play a couple months of the season and won't play defense? Do they draft Redick because the Utah fans will love him and he fills a need? If they did draft him their defense would get worse because he and Boozer don't play D. Redick right now would only be good for hitting open 3s(a utah weakness). They could be good next year but the west is so strong I'm not sure if I see it materializing for the Jazz.

Orlando Magic: I think this is a team that's going to be really good next year. They have a lot of athleticism, they have shooters, they have shotblockers, they have a good draft pick, they'll have cap room. I just feel like praising them right here. Whoever's their GM has done an excellent job. Still a couple questions IMO. Do you trade Grant Hill's expiring contract to get better now since you know he probably won't play many games? Who do you draft? Do you pick up anybody with the MLE?

Portland Trailblazers: This team is awful. I like some of their young players like Telfair, Jack, Webster, etc. They have a lot of things to do. They've gotta find somebody to take Miles first off. Who does their coach(the only stability in the organization) want them to draft? Nate Mcmillan is a good coach who wants hardworking defensive players. I'd draft Aldridge or Ty Thomas if I were the Blazers because they're athletic players that are good on D. I feel that the coach would love having them on the team. Some other questions like can you dump Ratliff on the knicks for an expiring contract, can you get Pryzbilla to re-sign(which he'll only do if they trade a bunch of the guys who don't care like Randolph+Miles), who can you get to take Randolph, etc? There've been a couple rumors saying Jermaine O'neal to portland and when he did an interview on PTI he didn't exactly say he wouldn't go there. He loves it in Portland and IMO that would be great for their team. Don't know if the blazers have anything the pacers would want though. Who's going to buy the team from Paul Allen and what type of players do THEY want?

New York knicks: The knicks are in an even worse situation than the blazers(hard to pull off, but when you've got Isiah anything is possible). They actually got worse by adding steve francis for a guy who didn't play. Larry and Steph HATE eachother which is obvious. Larry loves players that work hard, play defense, and pass the ball. Knicks fans should be worried, the team was so awful it already made Larry ill once this season. Another season with Steph would probably kill him or make him kill himself. How can they get rid of Jerome James? Who is going to want Marbury or Franchise?

there are some other teams I want to talk about but I'm done right now. I'll do more tomorrow. So what do you all think about any of these teams?

Agreed about Magic, they'll be quite good next season, and a playoff team. Here's some for the West from another board I did, mainly about staying/getting back into playoffs:

-Kings could make the playoffs next year if they didn't make any off-season moves aside from the draft and keeping Bonzi. But, that of course isn't how it'll be; Kings will address an addition in the front-court, and should at back-up PG. Bonzi Wells is a question mark of staying or not, but if he is gone, Kings will just sign at least a solid swingman in the form of a hustler/scorer.

-Lakers I'd say should make the playoffs again, and will make 1 or 2 moves.

-Clippers I see staying in it now with Kaman/Livingston coming on, and a mostly healthy Maggette (even if he isn't again, hopefully not). Brand will continue to rule. Cassell gets re-signed, don't know what will happen with Radmanovic. But I see them addressing their bench a bit is all.

-Suns I'd say stay in it, Nash I don't see wearing down much yet. They just need to address the back-up front-court a bit. House I definitely think is back, he's found a niche and home.

-Rockets should address some offense and youth/athleticism in the off-season. T-Mac I can't see having another season like this one, and Yao comes back rested and focused from the summer.

-Grizz will have Damon back, and just may need to address the bench a bit. Along with the center spot, with Wright likely gone, and I'm not sure if Jake will get that job. They'll ultimately be fine, and continue to be in the playoffs.

-Jazz and T'Wolves have a bunch of work to do in the off-season. Really, the Jazz key guys, just need to stay healthy and they can make it, as they could of the last two seasons. Injuries have just hit them quite hard. Need a bit more offense as well. Wolves to have a chance, of course need to not trade KG. Also need to re-sign Banks, and not let him go like they did Bobby Jackson and Chauncey Billups. Get another rebounder to help KG out.

-Hornets will need to get some proven talent around Paul and West if they want to hang in. Also what to do with their free-agents.

-Nuggets, they'll be back in it because of 'Melo/Camby and their athleticism and depth. Camby could stand to play in some more games, but at least in the 60s seems to be enough. Gotta get a proven/quality 3PT shooter though. Their bench I'd say is fine, really has just been about health and 3PT shooting for them. Might want to see if they can deal K-Mart and get rid of his contract and health problems, and get some regular play out of the PF spot. Also, what to with Nene. Ultimately, they'll be back to the post-season.

-Sonics with a couple moves could be back into the playoffs. Gotta re-sign Wilcox though.

------

On the Blazers, they could trade one of their guards or swingmen, or a couple of that. To get better, more vets. Blake (solid all season, I think)/Jack (think he stays though)/Telfair (started to come around the last couple months)/Outlaw (I like him)/Khryapa (had an up and down year).

I'd say Jack/Webster are definite keepers for their long-term future. Maybe Outlaw, he just needs regular and good minutes. Khryapa has shown flashes as well, but seemed to of got consistent time for most the season. Don't know what becomes of Miles or Randolph, who knows what can happen.

I have to admit, Orlando is starting to really impress me. They are a young team with tremendous upside. I look forward to seeing the Magic next year and seeing Dwight Howard dunking on some people. If Denver gets a 3 point shooter that is consistant, they could be dangerous, even more so than now.
