Cousins and Whiteside introductory press conference 1:30pm

Hope so, but interviews really aren't all that important. I'm just happy that our press didn't hammer him ( or even ask him ) questions about the supposed red flags the media likes to throw out there.

I haven't seen an interview yet where you could question either of these kids with Red Flags.

Lots of questions for Hassan... Probably because he was more relaxed and talkative of the two but I thought it was interesting.
One thing I liked that Hassan said is he had only 2 teams he was really hoping to go to and we were one of them.

DMC seemed more shy then anything and I'm ok with that because different people handle these situations differently but neither one of these kids came off as having bad attitudes.

Both were well spoken I think for what they said.. Seems like they as players, the front office, and especially us fans are all very excited. Going to be a fun year!

Yeah vlade, my friend was over during the draft and we always poke fun at him for having a baby face. When the kings selected him I was like hey man, they drafted you!

I enjoyed the ending thhe most, Cuz striking a couple poses for the camera lol

Hard not to like this kid :D

Between his looks and voice, Whiteside has a little bit of a resemblance to Jay-Z. He's the Mike Jordan of rap -- let's hope this kid becomes the Mike Jordan of shotblocking. Adding a little bit of Jay's swagger to this shy kid's personality would definitely go a long way as well.

I get the feeling that he's still supremely disappointed in his slide into the 2nd round -- I don't know if anyone else is picking up on that. When they asked him about that during the conference, of course he had his rehearsed answer, but it seemed to me like he was barely hiding how hurt he still is. Remember that day, Hassan. Remember it every day you're in the weight room and in the gym.

Great press conference. Both were really good in answering questions, although it was obvious that they were still nervous. Whiteside answered better but DMC's pose in the end was really the deciding factor.

The way Whiteside looked at Cousins is just LOL.

He should be reminded of that every time he looks at his number #33 too

Two really likable young men. Very excited for the upcoming season. DeMarcus is a scary player, could turn out to be the best center in the league. That's how much talent he has. I know comparisons are largely irrelevant (particularly this one) but in their freshman seasons, Shad and DeMarcus respectively put up 13/12 in 28 minutes; 16/10 in 23 minutes. DeMarcus was both a better scorer and rebounder than Shaq. Of course he's no Shaq, but the numbers bode well for the future. Anyone whose watched him play knows that he has a legit chance to be an elite NBA big. His footwork is brilliant, has some nifty post moves, nice touch, great hands, great strength and length, runs the floor well, and is a sheer beast on the boards. Love Cousins, and have done all year. Really excited to have him with us.

Love the Whiteside pick. He comes across as actually being a sweet kid, albeit at times shy. But that will change as he settles in, and he looked comfortable in the press conference. The red flags must come from his ADD, because as far as personality goes, he seems like a genuinely nice, quiet guy. Hopefully he has a fire and determination to get better, because his physical tools are top notch. His only weakness is strength, and I'm not even sure it's strength that's the problem, probably moreso weight. He'll get pushed around easily unless he puts on more weight, especially on his lower body. His upper body and core will get stronger as he matures. Can be a game changer on defense and shouldn't be a liabilty on offense either, which is a major plus.

We're very lucky to have these two guys. The dynamics of the team has changed, and for the better. It's a truly great time to be a Kings fan.

He's just a big, goofy kid. Sure he has some growing up to do, but from some of the "attitude" concerns from pundits you'd think he's some kind of raving psychopath. From all the stories and clips I've seen this week, I don't see any kind of negative energy from him. He's nothing like Coleman or Artest; those guys' personality "quirks" were not characterized by playfulness and affability. His personality reminds me more of young Shaq. It can be annoying if you're a fan of another team, especially when you're getting beaten by him, but his teammates and fans will love him.

It looks like Hassan and DMC will get along well with the team, especially Reke, JT, and Donte. Can't wait to see them play together!
