Could we all agree on one thing...

Our front office have made some pretty controversial decisions so far. Some good and some bad, depending on who you ask. But really there is no denying it, how good does it feel to be a real ****ing franchise again?! People question if PDA has any direction for this team. Am I the only one who is happy to just be involved in rumors involving actual relevant players? Am I the only one who hasn't forgotten the 5+ years of Weekend At Bernie's 3 starring Geoff Petrie with special guest Daryl Morey. This guy got our first solid top 25 player in Rudy Gay within his first couple months. Like it or not, it ended up great for this team. Give him a chance to do his thing. I believe in this team and have a feeling things are going to turn around soon. Go Kings!

We are still in the honeymoon phase of things. It's great to have a team, no doubt. Next step is to give the owner and front office a few off seasons to put together something special. If we still don't see process and a run for a playoff berth, then we have every right to question the hiring of the GM or coach.

I get what you're saying and I DO agree.

The current front office is trying to win and build a successful franchise. They may fail at that and we can question their moves but at least I'm not questioning their motives.

It's nice as a fan to be wholly focused on the team on the floor and not concerned about the team moving or directing venom at the ownership.

To me this has seemed alot more a situation of brightminded newbies coming in rather than the SVG situation of phil jackson situation.

Very true.

The hard working PDA is almost the exact opposite of what we had in the lazy, phone-phobic, and pathethic Petrie.

He made 2 big mistakes though in letting go of Evans and overpaying Landry.

But maybe those were Malone's ideas after all?

I don't consider letting Evans go a mistake. They didn't want to pay him 11 million a year (they gave him a fair offer IMO). Let's be honest, he isn't worth 11 million a year, especially coming off the bench (whatever team pays a bench player 11 million a year is in trouble). They made the right call on that one for various reasons, primary one being finance related and the 2nd being fit (according to them). Also, because of that sign and trade, we got Rudy Gay, who is a far better player.

I agree for the most part. The two moves that bring the most criticism are:

1) The sign and trade of Tyreke.
2) The signing of Landry.

Number 1 led directly to acquiring Rudy Gay. Plus the Rudy Gay deal moved out Salmons and Hayes contracts. So indirectly it worked out to the Kings benefit. Really this deal becomes Tyreke, PPat, Salmons and Hayes being swapped for Rudy, Acy and Gray. Considering all aspects I think this became a positive move for the Kings.

As for number 2 I don't see how you can judge this move. We have not seen how Coach Malone plans to utilize Carl Landry since he was injured last year. Sure in his previous stint with the Kings he under performed. But in previous stops Landry has delivered. I think he will become an important part of the "Bench Mob" and be one of the primary scoring threats in that role.

I agree. The past 14-15 months have been pretty freakin' awesome. Maybe not 100% awesome - but pretty freakin' awesome.

The west is mega talented still but it's Houston and Phoenix that have the biggest chances of falling off followed by GS because I thought Jackson was the perfect type of coach for the Curry/Thompson duo.

You are right! Were the Suns a fluke last season? How important was Frye? Will they lose Bledsoe? Will IT fit in? Houston placed too little value in Parsons IMO. And I agree with you about Jackson. Those GSW players loved him.

The Kings may surprise a few teams this coming season. The young guys in SL seem to be passing more and winning.
