Could the kings be like the 99 knicks ?

who were the 8th seed and went to the finals and lost to the spurs . Who do you want to face the spurs or mavs ?

Personally i say the mavs might be the easier of two evils ...... spurs are still the spurs with a ridic bench .

spurs bench= nazr, horry, finley, barry and van exel

mavs bench = diop, van horn, daniels, stackhouse, harris

With this team, and with this year, and with the record we have, I think it's best to concentrate on how we're going to pass the Lakers to get the eighth spot.

I want 6th seed, but will settle for 7th. We can take the Suns, but I don't feel we are totally ready for a veteran team like the Mavs, or the Spurs. We would destroy Denver.

it would take some serious gut checking for the kings just to get past the first round, where, in all likelihood, they'll have to get through either san antonio, dallas, or phoenix. even if they somehow pulled out an upset over one of those teams, they'd have to face one of the other two in the second round (and the third in the finals?) because of the way the divisions are structured this season.

I dunno. I have noticed the Kings have problems with teams with a high octane offense. I think the Kings match up better with the Spurs... Regaurdless of how deep the Spurs are, in the playoffs it turns into a 7-8 man rotation (usually) and the Kings have one of the most talented 8 man rotations in the league. But of course, this is all assuming the Kings even make it into the playoffs. Let's worry about that before picking who we want to play...

I'm not so sure about that. I think we do pretty well against high octane teams. We always give teams like Denver, Phoenix, and Bucks fits. What really gets us into trouble are quick point guards, actually quick guards in general. We don't have anybody who can guard them, with Bibby being a poor defender, Artest not being able to keep up with the really fast ones and no lane clogger/ shot blocker.
