Does anyone here think that switching to the corner series made our team worse? It seemed that since switching back to the old kings offense resulted in old kings habits like:
1) being pounded on the boards
2) giving up alot of points...worse defense
3) us scoring more
During the earlier part of the season we were near or at top of the league in opp ppg, offensive rebounds, rebounding.
Maybe it's a flaw of the princeton/high post offense that
a) we can't rebound offensively
b) we get hammered by fastbreak points because of item A
c) we give up more points
Sure the Open series was ugly to watch but at least we were winning somewhat. It's just depressing the way we give up a crazy amount of points. we just don't have the kind of talent to run the princeton/high post offense since we don't have the firepower to outscore our opponents.
I guess that sums up the state of the kings at the moment...not prolific enough to outscore opponents and not tough enough to hold opponents down.
