Congratulations from an Orange County native

Even though I was looking forward to the possibility of the Kings being in my neck of the woods and finally having a hometown basketball team, I'm glad for all of you that there's still hope that the Kings can stay in Sacramento. I've never been a Kings fan because of it's geographical location (although I guess you could say since it was part of its identity, that it was part of the appeal), so I can't say it would make a ton of difference to me if the Kings moved. However, I know very well how much the team means to all of you Sacramento citizens and how upset you all were about the pending relocation. So, I'm very happy for all of you that you still have the Kings.

Now KJ needs to get to work on the arena deal to keep them here another 25 years. In regards to the OC Kings fans I can let bygones be bygones. But for the "Anaheim Royals" fans I still flip the bird to them all and say "suck it".

EDIT: I really want to go back to that Anaheim town hall meeting where they voted on giving the money to refurbish the Honda Center and how much it hurt to see them fools laughing at our misery RIGHT after they voted. They were all smiles and laughter and they didn't even realize they were screwing over one of their own within the state. You don't try to steal a team from the same state that you are in with money still left on the table owed to the previous city then laugh about it after you vote. I really want to write a letter to those people, but I would let my emotions take over and it wouldn't be nice.

All the more reason why California should be split into two states!

We're a long way from being out of the woods and there's been no offical announcement yet, so I'm tempering my enthusiasm. The real work will begin after this, if were lucky enough to keep the team another year. Getting a feasible arena proposal with realistic financing has been and still is the single major threat to Sacramento losing the Kings. But I like the group of people that are joined together now to work on this. And I liked the ICON group's presentation to the city council. Their extensive background and experience with arenas and stadiums is international and impressive.
