Who would you rather have: Trey Murphy, who’s likely close to his ceiling as a very solid 3-and-D wing, where what you see is pretty much what you get; or Jonathan Kuminga, who has flashed two-way potential and appears to have a diverse skill set on the offensive end?
Murphy has a higher ceiling than Kuminga he's far more talented and brings similar athletic ability with way more skills and he's way more than a 3 and D I think your confusing him for Herb Jones. ( But with 3 picks included that's a no on that trade for me)

You’re entitled to your opinion based on your eye test, but that was objectively untrue.

Kuminga was never featured by his team the way Murphy was, he never played a full season not because of injuries.

On the other hand, Trey Murphy’s availability has been impacted by ongoing injury issues. After signing his four-year, $112 million extension in 2024, he played just 57 games due to a right hamstring strain, and only 53 games the following season due to a torn labrum and a partial rotator cuff tear.

By contrast, Kuminga’s injury history has largely been limited to minor issues, like occasional sprained ankles.

"It happens. There's usually, I would say, two or three food stealing by player's friends and relatives a year on our team," Kerr said. "You can't go to work in the office and just take the food in the cafeteria. In basketball, you can kind of do that and it's okay.""It destroyed our team. I tried my best to handle it, but when the news made it out... the news leaking was much more difficult than the food itself, and we were trying to repair that and we never really were able to," "So there are things that happen all the time that are so difficult. You do your best, you communicate with the players, you try to mend fences, but some things are insurmountable. A whole box of Hot Pocket™ is insurmountable."

From starting games at PG for Gregg Popovich in his age 20 season to cut from the team before the end of his rookie contract is a stunning fall from grace for the Mini Worm. He's still only 23 but he is a player who really missed his era. Put this guy on an early 90s NBA team and he might have had a long career as a defensive specialist. In 2026 though it's hard to stick in a major role if you can't be either a premier pivot man or at least halfway respectable as a floor spacer.

Parker and Crawford are the only ones deserving.

I dunno if I like this for both parties. Sochan probably needs to go somewhere where he can get reps to fully try to figure out if he’s going to continue to shoot one handed or not and bigs/forwards with weird flaws is really the one position that the Knicks are actually deep at.
I mean, they have a crisis on their hands called KAT. Lil' bro is unlike Luka as far as being a defensive liability in that he doesn't produce enough consistently on the offensive end to justify playing big minute. Sochan at least should help their overall defense in a Mike Brown system that prioritize offense, in case Robinson goes down.

For sheer entertainment factor, this is a good decision all around. Knicks fans will both love and hate him in short order. We get to see what happens when Mike Brown plays Sochan for an entire fourth quarter while KAT sulks on the bench. And there's a slim chance the Knicks face off against the Spurs in the Finals and we get a revenge storyline to cap off the season. This is all upside!

I mean, if we’re being frank, the big error in judgement the Knicks made was letting Precious go so they could sign Dump Truck Yabusele to a two year full tax payer MLE deal.

Did the Bucks just find themselves a path to keep Giannis? Dieng with 19 points 11 rebounds 6 assists 4 blocks and a steal. Cam Thomas off the bench. If Dieng is somehow for real they can trade their pick this year and a couple future picks and go get a real player. Giannis, second “star”, Dieng, Thomas. Fill out the roster with shooting and defense. Not going to win a championship but back to being competitive next year

Should've learned how to do this from the Kings. Just actually construct your roster with old vets with fat checks who can't play! Can't pretend to be bad when you are really just bad.
