im hoping its just GP keeping his cards close to his chest. We all know its not though. Its been awhile GP. We need a significant trade, show us your still up to it
I don't know why everybody seems to want to trade Thornton ? ?
I feel that he is more of a cornerstone for our team than even the great Tyreke Evans. Cousins and Thornton are the two guys that I'm the least worried about. I figure, our SG and C spots should be held by those two for a VERY long time. Everything else is up for grabs as far as I'm concerned.
Realistically Only for Batum, MT is a freakin beast when he catches fire. MT can be utilized so much better coming off the bench when a good SF is brought in. Back up 2/1 would be ideal similar to Bobby Jackson's role back in the day where you get instant offense.
I'm not expecting great players for our junk. I want him to pull the trigger on a trade or two that might balance out our roster a bit. i.e. Thornton for Batum.

Basically, it's an open question to all the Thornton haters. So many people were offering up Thornton in various deals. I just couldn't understand it, and after the Celtics game, I especially can't understand it. Thornton is a keeper in my book.

I love Thornton but I presume I am what you would call a "Thornton hater." We are overloaded at the guard position so if any players were to be offered in trade it would be Tyreke or Thornton. IT and Jimmer have no value. I would like to see either traded for a SF of equivalent quality which is usually how trades work. Then we can get away from small ball and use Jimmer coming off the bench. As it is now, one guard is underutilized unless we play small ball which in the end is a dead end.

To me, if it came down to Tyreke and Thornton, I'm trading Tyreke. One piece fits, and one doesn't fit. It's pretty simple to me.
Now, having said that, you'd think that Tyreke would bring you quite a bit more back in trade, so, I would be expecting a top notch player back in return. So, I'm not saying to give Tyreke away, but if one of those two had to go, I'd rather it be Tyreke. We have Thornton signed to a pretty nice deal right now, and Tyreke is going to want a bunch of $$$ when his deal is up, and quite honestly I can't see paying the guy big money when he just doesn't really fit the team concept very well.
