Coach Rick Adelman reaches 1000 wins.

Congratulations Coach Adelman. I never wanted you to leave Sacramento, because I thought you were a great coach. You deserve the accolades coming your way for a great career.

(My only regret is that you should have had a championship with the Kings and got robbed.)

Joni Mitchell, a folk singer long before a lot of you were born, had a song called the "Big Yellow Taxi." My favorite part of the song is:

Don't it always seem to go
You don't know what you've got
Till it's gone.
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot.

Letting Rick Adelman walk out the door was just the beginning of the lunacy that was the Brothers Maloof. In a way, though, I'm glad he didn't stay for the simple reason he would not have reached this milestone with Larry, Moe and Curley calling the shots.

Congratulations, Coach Adelman!

I couldn't have said that any better.

while the coaches after Rick will be remembered, if at all, then for the fact that they flamed out so horribly, they cannot even get a job as an assistant coach in the NBA anymore (well, Theus did, briefly, but it was an abject failure as well), Rick Adelman will go down as one of the greatest coaches in this league. now he celebrates this milestone in probably his most difficult season, on and off the court. I wish him all the best and that he'll see a lot less rotten luck for the rest of his career.
