Cleaning it up for pete

kingwin

Bench
ideas to fix his mistakes....

so let me clean up this mess for PDA....thorton and patterson for asik. JT and jimmer for trevor ariza....

Vasquez/IT/mcCallum
Mclemore/Salmons
Ariza/Salmons/outlaw
Cousins/Landry
Asik/Chuck

was the best i could do, just dont see anyone taking on chuck...its helps fill out houstons bench with thorton and gives them spacing for howard with patterson... JT gives WAS a gd rotation bid behind nene/okafor and clears the SF spot for Porter

That at least gives us 4 legit starters (Hopefully McLemore is able to make it 5). But I think we need better shooting at the SF spot with the addition of Vasquez.

I'd love for this to happen, but is Houston really going to want to pay Thornton's salary only for having him play bachup to Harden? more to the point, is Houston not likely to find a much better package than what we could offer them

I wonder if Houston would take back PPat packaged with Salmons. I know we have all been focusing on amnestying Salmons, but he has a team option after this year so he could be considered an ender. We then sign or trade for a 1 year rental at SF and hopefully suck bad enough to grab a 2nd tier star SF in the draft next year.

they have their stars...the point was to bolster their bench...they dont have the cap to sign more free agents they have their team already, now they just need to bolster their bench... and yes i guess you can maybe get more for asik..i was going on the notion that the asik for anderson deal is not happening( i think that was on real gm) and that the sign and trade for josh smith isnt happening now that he signed with DET...and asik says he doesnt want to be there anymore.

all that may be true, however, the Rockets may still get more value elsewhere or get a better opportunity to dump salary. it's why I think signing Landry might've been a mistake. strongly suspect that the Rockets would've been more willing to trade Asik for just Ppat and maybe a 2nd rounder or something.

I haven't read the whole thread and just cranked up my computer. Getting Landry makes no sense and although it is better to have the team in Sacramento than Seattle, PDA is doing a poor job and is taking a lot of fun out of this season in his choices so far. I'm confused.

lol. Amen

I read that PDA is trying to bolster the list through trades.

Which makes signing Landry not bad. Clearly he's trying to move Thompson on, bring in a PF with some step-back touch (Which isn't a bad idea with Cousins under the rim), and we weren't going to land anyone else in free agency.

Package him with someone for a SF, and we're set. I know you all had your heart set on Iguodala, but that didn't happen. Let's move on.

Worst case scenario - We suck, and get a good chance at snagging Wiggins next year.
