Clay Bennett will understand our position?

Haha....That picture.

OKC gets away with a lot of goaltends, just ask the Nuggets :p

Re: the article itself... Interesting slant. There has been a lot of pessimism going around about Bennett seeing as how he's the guy that killed the Sonics. But I for one kind of doubt that he was brought in by Stern just to screw us over. Taking Buss out might have screwed us over, but I dont think we're any worse off with Bennett than with any other guy. Its not like the man is some evil serial franchise stealer...He is a one and doner. And maybe he'll want to prove that he isnt so bad by giving Sac a fair shot?

Anyways, lot of things to be cautiously optimistic about lately. The move was as good as done a couple weeks ago, seems like there is a sliver of a chance now.

The more I think about it, I don't think Bennett being on the committee matters one way or the other. All that matters is what Kevin Johnson and ICON can show the committee over the next two weeks. If they can convince them that we'll break ground on an arena in the next year, game over for Anaheim. if they can't, game over for us (unless we get saved by relocation fees the Magoofs can't pay).

I'm of the mind that Clay Bennett is the IDEAL choice for helping the Kings stay. Two reasons.

1. He understands the small market

2. He's a good buddy of Jerry Buss

The second one is pretty much the sealer for me. Given how vehemently Buss opposes the move (500 mil reasons), if Bennett goes against him, their relationship is over, and Bennett has a serious enemy. Does anybody really believe he will??? Really??? What, just because he MAY come to the conclusion that it's better for the league. Even if it is better, it's not THAT much better.

The appointment of Bennett was the clearest sign yet that the NBA wants the Kings in Sac. (All made possible by KJ/Burkle/Webb/Anderson of course). At this point I'd be truly shocked if the Relo Committee recommends approval of the move.

I've been convinced for months that Stern had given up on Sacramento entirely. But I sometimes see positives too. I guess that's why Stern picked him.

It really alllll changed when KJ dropped the Burkle bomb. It changed EVERYTHING. The Bennett appointment was a response to that. There would have been no such committee had that not happened. It would have been filed and gone to a vote.

No. Stern said in his press conference they have very specific bylaws they must follow. Making the commitee and doing the financial numbers. He even referenced the potential for NFL teams to move into LA and how that would impact the finances. If they were moving just about anywhere but anaheim it would be much easier.
