Classic Ron Artest

Kingster

Hall of Famer
From Dime Magazine, a question and answer with Ron Artest. Among some of the noteworthies:

What were your thoughts on the Stephen Jackson club altercation? If you were there with Steve, what would you have said to him?

Artest: If I was there with Steve, anything he woulda did, I woulda did.

Ron-Ron, what's your favorite quote?

Artest: My favorite quote is 'I'ma smack the [expletive] out of you.'"

OMG. No one can control this guy. More and more, I want him as far from my Kings team as possible. Is there a team in Siberia we can trade him to?

When was this quote taken? I wouldn't be surprised if it was fairly recent, before the recent altercation at the house though.

I was really under the impression that Ron's past was behind him, but obviously it is not. Combining this very emotional person with another emotional person in his wife with neither of them wanting to back down and you have a problem.

It's dated February 28, 2007.

It was also the subject of Rick Reilly's column in the March 19, 2007, edition of Sports Illustrated. He, of course, added his "wisdom" after each quote. If you can read it online, it is worth the read. I think it is hard to have him on our King's team for many reasons, but none of them take away from his true natural basketball talent. I hope he is traded away in the off season. Annie.

I heard about this before...what I can't figure out though is why the magazine would create an advice column with Ron Artest...and why anybody in their right minds would actually "ask Ron-Ron" for advice.

I really don't believe that it is Ron Artests fault 4 the way he plays on the court.......Jus playin most of it is his fault. He jus needs a couch that won't take any of his crap. So U can blame Muss 4 Ron's bad ideas on the court. He should fine Artest everytime he tries 2 carry the team on his back...... But that is jus me.... If it were up 2 me i would trade Ron-Ron then fire Muss an get a coach that can handle a good team....One that can take them all the way....... As 4 Ron off the court there aint no helpin that man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
