Great, but when can we SEE HIM PLAY!!! :D

Let's get the season going already....

i think he's gonna be better than kevin martin. and it's a plus that he looks more athletic and bigger in the arms.

I think that both will be very competitive, because they know they are going for more minutes at the same position(s), so it should be fun watching them both. Dammit, I cant wait...a month cant go be any sooner...even pre-season is okay with me...just cant wait to get the season going already!! WOOOOO!!!!!

Oh, the battle for minutes will definitely be there. That means both will be playing quite hard.

Though Garcia has a bit of a general advantage in his PG/SG/SF abilities.

The kid definalty needs to hit the weights, the LAST thing the team needs now is another unathetic guy who cant paly in the paint with a nice out side shot.

i beg to differ, our bench has no shooters....if he can develop a good shot that will be great

though it will suck if he turns out to be a softie :P

I think what he has shown he can bring in his career up to this point, gives a pretty nice indication that he won't be.

Indeed, our bench doesn't have outside shooters.

About hitting the weights he said he would be in the first interview with us.

From what I've seen of him he can dunk, drive to the basket, block shots...

You're right, he can drive very well. Good passer, nice outside shot, will block some shots. Not a strong player by any means, but he is long and pretty athletic. As for post players. Do we need more? We now have Corliss, Reef, and Bonzi. That ain't too bad if you ask me.

So, based on a couple of studio pics and the "fact" that Garcia looks "bigger in the arms," he's going to be better than Martin?

...

God, I cannot wait for TDOS to be over. The lengths some people are going to in an attempt to make Garcia appear as though he's "better" are ridiculous.

I suppose we should see if Popeye is available, if you're going to base decisions on arm size.

Instead of trying to decide which young man is going to be better, why not be excited about the fact we have two players with a lot of potential?

Do not sell Kevin Martin short. There's a reason Geoff Petrie got him; there's a reason the team has worked with him all summer.

Meh, I don't even bother anymore. Every discussion about Kevin turns into one about Garcia, and every discussion about Garcia seems to center on how much better than Kevin he is already, never having even stepped foot on the court in an NBA game. I don't understand the mentality of trying to build one guy up by continually trying to tear another one down, since they are both Kings. Just seems wrong to me, but I'm in the minority apparently.

I just think that some people just feel they want one better than the other 'cause if one is obviously better than the other then that player can help out the kings more than having 2 evenly good players that will cancel out the good they could bring the team(obviously 2 players that are good is a good thing, but we know how adelman likes to coach and he may choose one over the other). But its not me who thinks like this, its just what I think the others are thinking.

Haha, I just made an a$$ out of myself. See what happens when ur at work and bored.

Well you probably have seen more of him than I have (only saw a few of his games last season) It will be interesting to see how he does agianst NBA level players, and I certainly hope you are right.

Is Garcia even signed yet, because on hoopshype it has his salary for 4 years.. But on the Kings website, it says he still an "Unisgned Draft pick"...???

I remember my friend went for the job there about 4 years back (web position) ..he said it was not an idea working situation...the woman in charge was not very nice....

Well, he has that little goatee thing goin on too so he must be tougher too.

I don't understand the comparisons either, but I think it'll be fun to watch those two battle for playing time this year and I am especially looking forward to seeing them on the court together. It probably won't happen much but for some reason I get excited about that. I think any time you can have two young motivated guys out there at the same time like that its just asking for excitement. When does camp officially start?

Ah, good point... Using that rationale, we should probably see if Yosemite Sam is available for the upcoming season. ;)

Oct. 4

when i said garcia was bigger in the arms i was only hinting that he may be stronger than martin. doesn't mean that I think garcia will be better, but probably means that he'll be tougher. However, if i believe garcia will be better it won't be because he looks stronger; it'll be because he's more versatile and can handle the ball better. at least that's what i believe.

I am happy about the fact that we have 2 young and athletic players that aren't greedy and what to bust their butts for this team. but like anything else this is a business; aint no heartache when it comes to trying to win
