Even the Kings' announcers are talking about the "politics" of rotations - "keeping players happy." From my experience when there is such a dynamic in play it's usually bad for team motivation and performance. If players think they are just puppets orchestrated by management's ulterior motives or by the agendas of particular players rather than a coach devoted to the sole goal of winning, they will quickly retreat in their own particular agendas at the cost of team morale and winning. Also, if players get any whiff that massive personnel changes could be in the offing, then it's goodbye, baby - management will have its agenda and they will have theirs, and neither the twain shall meet.
