I think Charles Barkley is WAY too narcissistic to ever become jealous. I believe he truly does not like our Kings, and Webber specifically. He does have a fondness for Bibby though.

I wouldn't take one thing he ever says to heart, Barkley has all the social grace of a walrus! And for that reason, he is very entertaining, I'm afraid.

No, its not Webber. He has repeatedly gone with the "Webber is great, but the rest of those guys can't play" line. I've always thought it was much more attached to the European influence. He has always believed that Vlade and Peja were soft, and we were soft for having them. At this point don't think it would make a difference who we had though -- he's pretty committed to just senselessly dumping on the Kings. I almost never watch that show anymore just to avoid his inane prattle (and not just on the Kings).

Until the Kings step up Barkley will continue to talk trash about the Kings. The Kings have not beaten Minn, Dallas or L.A.

but we have beaten two of the best teams in the league(SA and PHO); and utah team that'd just done the same. minn has been beaten by CHA and the bulls, but people still see them as a good team. yet we lose to NO, whose went on a ministreak after beating us, and we're garbage?

I'm sorry your right the Kings did beat the Lakers. Your also right they beat the Spurs and the Suns. Which are two of the best team in the league. Having said that the Kings have also lost to some teams that they have no business losing too. It has been very frustrating knowing that the Kings beat the Spurs and the Suns yet lose to the freaking Hornets. Now Barkley get paid to share his opinion and he has never liked to Kings but what has the Kings done to shut him up. Can you honestly say that night to night you know which Kings team will show up. The team that beat the Spurs or the team that lost to the Hornets.

So you expect the Kings to win every game they should? Does that mean you accept them losing if everyone thinks they should? It's been pointed out on this board in other threads but I'll repeat: The year the Bulls lost 10 freaking games, they lost to a terrible team. A team that was the laughing stock of the NBA. Do you happen to know who that team was?

In this league - especially now - any team has the capability to beat any other team. There are no done deals. Teams that look past the bottom-feeders, thinking they're going to be easy victories, do so at their own risk. That wasn't the problem with the Kings v. Hornets, IMHO. What happened was the Hornets got back some key players, the Kings were on the 4th game on the road in 5 nights, and the Hornets simply wanted it more. It was a HUGE advantage for them to be at home.

Now Barkley get paid to share his opinion and he has never liked to Kings but what has the Kings done to shut him up. Can you honestly say that night to night you know which Kings team will show up. The team that beat the Spurs or the team that lost to the Hornets.

I don't think the Kings are worried about shutting Barkley up, since he has NEVER been one of our fans and I doubt if he ever will be.

I guess the difference is that I've been a fan of this team since 1985. I have yet to see them or any other team in the NBA win every single game. Some of the losses are going to be close; some are going to be ugly. That's just part of the NBA.

Bottom line, I laugh at Charles Barkley. His opinion of the Kings and their chances at winning a championship can, AFAIC, be summed up with one quote from Mike Bibby:

"Charles? How would you know what it takes?"

Remember, Barkley talks A LOT but he doesn't have any rings on his fingers either. Magic Johnson, who does have a nice collection of NBA jewelry, seems to think a lot more of the Kings than Barkley does. And he'll be the first to say you can't pick the NBA winner in January.

Second bottom line, Barkley is still full of it.

The Bulls may have lost to a terrible team but they also had rings on their fingers. They didn't have a history of playing inconsistant or a history of not playing "D".

What Bibby said was funny, I laugh when I heard it. Barkley has won the Western Conference with the Suns. Right now I would be happy for the Kings to win that. Magic did say that you can't win a Championship in January but he has also said that the Kings don't play good enough "D"( said it last year). Now I hope Charles is wrong and somehow the Kings can put it together and win it all. As it stands right now I think, as a Kings fan, I in for a disappointed year once again.

Second bottom line, Barkley is still full of it.

He may be but he will be full of it in the Hall Of Fame.
