Chants to be said during the "Here We Stay" game 2/28/11 vs. LA Clippers

Don Geronimo show on KHTK just went through this entire skit on air with clapping. Not surprisingly, they (including w/ Carmichael Dave) pretty much branded it a useless stunt.

I don't think they should be telling fans what to cheer, when to cheer and how to cheer. I am sure they will cheer when they see fit, not when a piece of paper says to.

Damn, if most people feel like that, its no wonder Sacramento can't ever get their act together, including nothing on a new arena for fourteen years.

Random cheering never has the same effect as a whole crowd chanting in unison. Good grief, nobody is being forced to do anything. However, if they want this team to stay, I hope the fans will really try this.

look at what happened with the 49ers on National television when the fans cheered in unison. lol. it wasn't planned or anything but it worked.

If you want a whole arena-full of people to send a message, what better way than to give them a message to send? It ain't rocket surgery, kingboy.

Big games in Sacramento have a nice, almost college feel to them. The whole crowd, together, making noise. I think it's a good idea.

I must be in the minority then. Obviously the fans are going to cheer their heads off anyways because of the circumstances. It's not like their in a choir and or a band and follow the notes given to them. They just instinctly cheer because they care.

Wouldn't put much weight into that. Don Geronimo is probably one of the worst things to ever happen to Sacramento local radio. It's like listening to Howard Stern, only missing the talent and comedy. 1140 would be better off simulcasting People's Court for more enlightened commentary.

I will be very interested to see if any of those chants, or the fan dubbed game will even be acknowledged by the Kings org. on air. Also very interested to see if the Maloofs are in attendance. If not, I think it will say a whole lot.

I hate clap chants!

Hopefully any "MVP" chants for Griffin while at the line will be drowned out by these.

They should have added a "Suck my Sac" clap, clap, clap, clap, clap as well.

In the tiny 1 person big minority.

Did you just belabor the fact that Sac fans can't get their act together and then belittle an attempt to get them together at the same time in an earlier post? Make up your mind homey.

Tell you what. You can go to the game, NOT cheer when everyone else is, and then scream your head off saying whatever comes to mind about anything, when everyone else is silent.

Nothing wrong with a little bit of direction. That's what all college crowds have, with the male and female "yell leaders" and that's why it's so fun at a college game. They also have pre-set cheering rituals that everyone knows.

Disagree. That show is great radio.

I've listened to the show a few times. I cannot understand how anyone can think this. But I'm glad you're happy with it.
agreed. I was a fan of his national show, the Don and Mike Show, but his new show in sacramento has not lived up to expectations. It's cringe inducing at times.

if by minority, you mean the 1 and only person...yes. it makes much more sense to chant or cheer in unison so people understand what you are trying to say as opposed to yelling random things at random times that in the end sound like droning. clapping and cheering when we make a run or making noise to bother the other team is great and all, but if you want to make a statement and be heard by everyone in the arena and on tv, you want to all cheer at the same time.

what someone should do is whoever has access to a cheap or free copying method, should make a couple hundred copies of that paper and pass it out in front of the arena.

It's unfortunate you didn't understand what I was trying to say. Don't read too much into what a person writes.

You will cheer at the same time, when they score....or hustle for a play, play good defense, cause a TO. It's all in the same bro. You just mis read what I was trying to say, that's all.

Saying that unified cheering is somehow less powerful than disjointed every-man-for-himself style cheering is like saying that in lieu of having a sandwich, you would rather have all of the ingredients of the sandwich served to you individually at different times.

I'm sorry but your post isn't relevant at all to what I was referring to.
