It's not like it's a real game anyway. You'll never get fans interested in games where the players aren't giving it everything to try and win.
The NBA is trying to "soap opera" the fans by getting them to tune in to see who gets shunned by who and who gets picked last. It's kind of pathetic in my opinion.

Except that link specifically states that the All-Stars will still be selected the same way they have been, it's just that the top vote-getters will get to pick teams out of those 22 other guys.Let’s be honest, this idea to eliminate east and west makes a ton of a sense when you consider how many all star calibre players could miss out because of how deep the western conference is, and in turn consider what players could get all star calls in the east after the departures. So this idea makes a ton of sense. Get the best players on the court on two teams via draft like system and go with it.
