Last 3 games were very similar wit happy endings for the Kings. Our inabilities to rebound and defend will eventualy come back to bite us in a big way. Hopefully not tonight tough. During those 3 games we saw 2 future all stars in making - Kaman and Przybilla (sarcasm). The question is - who will it be tonight ? It is just our luck. For example, if player A or team A in a slump or losing streak - playing Kings will cause that slump or streak to disappear for one night. Sometime it is because what we do but most of thetime it just happenes against us for no particular reason at all. (exceptions such as NVE, Rogers, need just to see Kings uniform to transform into a superstar)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is a TNT broadcast tonight. You all know what that means. You have about 11 hrs to figure out wheather You would rather listen to Kerr (Spurs this or Duncan that) or Collins. Also expect Barkley to say a lot about Kings but mostly negative stuff. As far as I remember Kings lost every game that was shown on TNT this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cavs = LeBron. Not really, but mostly. Their frontline will cause some trouble and Gooden might have a monster game. also their bench is pretty good even though there are no big names on it. Should be a fun game which should be won by us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
CW is playing really well currently especially on the offensive end. Interesting match up with Gooden. (talent vs athleticism). Hopefully the knee is OK.
Pedja - let me make a very bold prediction. He will play better than the last game. Hard not to. would be an interesting match up if Pedja would play LeBron but I doubt it.
Miller - Big "Z" is waiting tonight. Expect a good battle. Brad has been consistently inconsistant lately. When he shoots he plays well. Unfortunately, he does not shoot often enough. He will be blocked several times again.
Bibby - looks like ankle is doing better. I assume that Cavs will try with lot's of pick and roll. He needs to play better defense for Kings to go anywhere.
Mobley - might have to play LeBron tonight. Nice test. Will see how "too agressive to struggle" works tonight.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tag - did not play last game but it is not like we can use rebounding or defense.
Evans - very solid again. Can not ask for more.
Darius - played well last game. Keep it up.
Martin - He played hence contributed. Imagine that.
House - lucky us
The rest is just "Mateen" section
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RA - do we really have to watch House again tonight ? I am sure he talks about rebounding all the time. Apparently nobody cares.

Go Clippers !

You're right. We have lost them ... although, it's been only two games. We'll see if they turn it around tonight.

That should be interesting. I don't think Mobley will be blocking any of LeBron's breakaway dunks like he did in both Clipper's games. Although I'm betting Mobley steals the ball at least once on a LeBron crossover attempt. He's got some quick hands.

Portland is exactly one of those teams that Tag does not match up with at all. He could probably have grabbed a few boards, but in that game, with only 4 players on offense most of the night anyway, I don't think I'd want to make it 3. Also, what if Tag's in there to get those rebounds? And he is shooting those free throws instead of Webber. Tag is what he is, but don't overlook all of his negatives. With that said ... expect to see some minutes from him tonight ... unless 'Z' is scoring solely from long range jumpers.

Zydrunas is a good matchup for Ostertag, but Big Z is kind of foul prone so I have doubts that Greg will get a chance. Gooden is undersized and really sloppy (although effective), Webber should have his way with him. LeBron is going to be trouble, over his last five games he's put up averages of: 29pts, 9reb, 9ast, 3stl. He's probably going over those averages in at least 2 categories tonight. Peja is going to have Newble on him, last year he torched Newble and I expect he'll get his fair share of looks once again.

Honestly, I am tired of all that "match up" talk. It always works 2 ways. Additionally, You can never find out untill You try. I am sure that Tag would contributed same way Martin did when RA lets him play.

While I don't agree with everything in your pregame anallysis, I agree with most of it. Overall, this is a nice breakdown.

Pedja is not quick enough
That is what makes James so dang good. He is too quick for the bigger guys, and too strong for the smaller guys. I would imagine the coaching staff will throw a variety of matchups against him.

I'd like to see Kevin works on him tonite.

Usually, I'd agree. If you put a big guy in the lineup against smaller more athletic players you can post up and use your size as an advantage. But our offense isn't set up for a guy in the low post. I think we'll never see Tag in the lineup against these type of centers unless Adelman implements a new offense when he is on the floor.

Yeah, a match-up that is bad for us can be very good for the opponent. And a match-up that is good for us is generally not so good for the other guy. I think that's the whole point of discussing match-ups.

To say that Tag "would contributed same way Martin did" is like saying Scot Pollard and Bobby Jackson would make the same kind of contributions.

You say "you never know until you try." RA has tried using Tag at very times this year when it wasn't really indicated and, for the most part, the result has been completely and totally predictable. Tag has faltered in some situations.

RA is not trying to undermine Tag or limit his effectiveness. Why would he? He's using his best knowledge of the game to determine when Tag would be the most effective. There may be times when I don't particularly agree with him and times when a majority of people don't agree with him, but that doesn't mean his concept of how to determine when to play Tag is wrong. RA is a little more experienced about these things than ANY of us. We know he tends to be a little more conservative about his rotations. I, for one, am incredibly glad to see he's being more flexible right now than I've ever seen. He knows the games when Tag will be nearly indispensable. As long as he puts him on the court in those instances, I'll be happy.

By "Rogers," do you mean a Rogers of the Rodney kind? Could you clear that up for me Piksi?

To be Honest, no one player in the league is ever really going to stop Lebron, but on our team Mo evans prob matches up the best. Is Cat Strong/long enough? Is Peja quick enough? I have a feeling we are gonna find out.

Does any other kind of Rogers play a career game every time he plays us?

That is exactly "kind" I was thinking of.

Why not play a zone? Cleveland isnt much of an outside team

Well, that's his point: you can't play zone against him. By the time you compensate and recover to move towards Lebron, he's already in the air getting ready to smash it over someone's head or else he's dished it off to a teammate. His quickness is incredible. The only way to effectively guard him is to do it straight up with someone who can match his quickness to keep up with him, and his strength in order to prevent him from driving. At this point, I don't know anyone who can. Well, there's one that might, but he's sitting on crutches down in LA right now. And they haven't really played against each other yet.

I'm thinking the best thing to do might involve super-glue and his sneakers. All we need is a volunteer who is going to the game to agree to crawl under the visitor bench and...

Well, I think you catch my drift.

:D

So you guys think they will put Peja on The King?

I was wondering about that earlier. I think CAT is to small but could be scrappy. I like Peja on him the most but honestly I don't think anyone is gonna stop him. He is so impressive at this stage of his game.

I would kinda expect Mr Rogers to score a career high against us, the way our season has been going.

It would be a wonderful day in his neighborhood. ;)

I think he died last year, though, so that's at least one Rogers who won't be having a career outing against the Kings.
