Cavaliers Offer Top Pick to Pelicans

Sure. Package anyone on Kings roster except Cousins and Evans if deal makes sense. Maybe Patrick Patterson off limits too.

With #1 and #2 in play and guys like Noel and Porter out there to fill very specific needs I'd hope we are at least chatting a bit.

Not sure who the Cavs could be targeting on the Pelicans though? I would take it as obvious that they couldn't think they could get Davis, and what else is there in New Orleans to get? I mean they've been trying to package that pick to get Aldridge and Love, pretty steep drop off to any non-Davis Pelican.

It says on that article, Greivis Vasquez, #6 and 2014 first round pick. Do you think Jimmer/+ IT and #7 pick will do? If they will take IT/Jimmer + #7 pick, I'm all for it.

Now I'm sniffing Hoopsworld. What are the Kyrie Irvings going to do with Vasquez?

So, wait a second: Cleveland is targeting Vasquez and two firsts, and you think that Fredette, Thomas and this year's #7 is a comparable offer? And people here think that Kings Fans over-inflate Evans' value...

I steer clear from any Evans discussions, as I know how sensitive a topic he can be on this board, but somehow it still find its way to ANY thread. I think i'd better stick to the lounge.

I really don't know who Vasquez is, since I don't follow Cleveland that much, that's why my statement was in a form of a question. So based on your reaction, I take it he's either borderline Star or Fredette and Thomas are just trash.

Grevis Vasquez was New Orleans' starting PG last year and broke out in a big way to the tune of 13.9pts 9.0ast. He's a giant Reke sized PG, so theoretically you could trade for him and play him at SG if you were Cleveland, I just have no idea why you would want to.

I think the real kicker in this is New Orleans 2014 pick.

Yeah, that's a solid guess. If this were true I guess makes sense Cleveland might be trying to kick the can down the road and get an extra shot at Wiggins next year with a second lottery pick.

Vasquez is on the Pelicans btw, and he's a pretty good player. Not a star, but a solid starter in the league. Fredette doesn't have much value based on his first two years, though it's very possible that he will get better. For the sake of simplicity we call Thomas-Vasquez a wash (tbh Vasquez is better). Comparing the two "offers" it'd be 2013 #6 pick + 2014 first round pick (good draft class) VS a lower 2013 #7 pick and Jimmer Fredette.

Ooops..

Yep that's what I meant.

I agree with jthompson1 that they are looking at the 2014 first round pick.

Pelicans official denies reported trade suddenly make rounds on Internet involving Cavs. "Good grief. People are just making stuff up now."

My post had nothing to do with Evans, except for to provide context. It had more to do with the fact that Vasquez is so much better than Fredette and Thomas, by himself, that the notion that Fredette/Thomas + a first is a comparable offer to Vasquez and two firsts is laughable.

I feel that it indicates the tendency of some Kings Fans to grossly over-inflate the value of Kings players, which I then compared to those who claim that Kings Fans do the same with Evans. It had nothing to do with making the topic about Evans, and everything to do with, to borrow a British expression, taking the pee out of your proposal (help me out, Brits; I said that right, right?).
