we could win the NBA championship if duncan, dirk, big ben, billups, kobe ( maybe, the lakers PO's are in doubt) , nash, marion, shaq and wade all fall on carefully placed banana peels while on their way to the arena the day of the first game in the first round

;)

i say first round

GO KINGS!!!!!!!!!!

I voted a wishfull second round, if we get lucky enough to move up above the 8th seed and get Denver in the first then I see a second rounder.

I am just getting ahead of myself. Nothing to see here lookieloo's

if the mavs take 1st seed, then i dont mind the kings at 8th.... but we need to shoot for 6th or 7th..... hopefully 6th, but how are we going to pass the lakers, hornets and grizzlies?

Yes. All the Kings need to do is trade for Kevin Garnett. You know Petrie can do it. Even though the deadline has passed. You know it can happen.

Maybe he'll get waived for 'conduct detrimental to the team' and we can snatch him up before the end of the season...

Wow, this is really interesting...

A whopping 97.32% of us believe that we will make the playoffs this year (even though we're 1.5 games back)...

and... apparently 8 people are true-blue optimists.:)

We can win it all. Any team can win it all, even Atlanta. But back to reality, we likely will not. And being the optimist that I am, I think we make it to second round. Then it is a blind punchers chance from there...kinda like a 100 year old 100 lb. man going against Muhammad Ali.

I meant realistic from the standpoint of what the abilities of this currently configured team can do, and speculation from the view of what can the kings do to better their situation, e.g. the Trade Thread or Free Agency (if we had cap room)

If the thoughts are not realistic, it surely does not matter. This is a sports discussion board. What could be more inocuous that sports-talk? It doesn't matter now, and it will never matter.
:)

I voted that the Kings will win it all.

Mostly because I'm willing to be wrong when they don't if it also means I get the bragging rights on the off chance that some horrible flu will sweep the league and take out all of our competition.

Maybe the Birdman Flu will infect the league and all the top competition will test positive for drugs.

Honestly, it's very hard to say what will happen. I want to see how our current roster plays against Dallas and SA before I would make any bold predictions. Too much is made of our current record and seed. The current Kings team is not a .500 team, they are much better. 12-5 in the last seventeen games. If we get the 6th or 7th seed, we will likely play Denver (6th) or Phoenix (2nd). With our current squad and the way we are playing, I like our chances against either of those teams in a 7 game series. If we get past the first round then as a 6 or 7 seed, then we would play Denver or Phoenix again in the second round (assuming the Grizz or Clips as a 6 don't beat Denver or Lakers or Grizz as 7 don't beat Phoenix). I like our chances in a second round matchup against any of those 4 teams.
