Can we just call Tyreke Evans.....

Tyreke Evans is better than Brandon Roy right now. Anyone who would disagree has not watched Evans play complete games. There is no way Roy would have done what Reke has done for our team this year. I mean, the clutch shots, the clutch defensive plays... over, and over, and over....

Most neutral fans go by stat lines of other teams, or at the most, highlight reels. You gotta watch the whole game.
Well to be fair, Roy showed pretty much the same thing in his rookie year. Hell, he made a bunch of clutch plays in OUR building to win the game.

You know, I'm not really sure he did. He still hasn't shown it really, and at 25 he's past the main growth/improvement years. Roy is a player in a different style. He is very very good at what he does, sophisticated at playing the pick and roll jumper sort of game. But he's not physically dominant the way Reke is. Its the spark of greatness being able to do something that your opponent knows you want to do and they are helpless to stop it from happening anyway. There is also a gulf there defensively. Roy might be a better player right now -- and that's a true might, the gulf isn't much -- but at no point, rookie or later, did he ever show the potenital to be first rate big G "Great". He's one of the league's best players, but he's kind of a Mitch Richmond sort of figure. That really really really good player sitting just behind the elite superstars who just doesn't quite have that spark. Can compete with them on most nights, but isn't the same level of dominant. Reke is that other level of dominant. He's just not polished. But the dominance is there, and that's one of those truly unteachable things that just separates the super elites.

Roy is a good comparison because they are at similar levels. Which is saying something because Roy is damn good. I agree Bricklayer- that clutch X factor that Reke carries with him has value all it's own, and a lot of value. We can name on one hand probably the real clutch players in this league, and I bet at this point Reke is at least the pinky on most hands.

My favorite Reke moment was after his clutch win over the bulls in Chicago; Reke looks into the crowd and yells "this is my house!" LOFL

Am I the only one who kept reading it "Roy" and thought of Brandon Roy for the first 30 seconds? :p

By the way, when I said this, I was referring to the acronym to the phrase "Rookie of the year" "ROY".... :p

When someone use ROY without capitalizing the whole word, I thought someone was talking about Brandon Roy.

And I completely agree with Brick regarding how Reke is on a different level than Roy already at this point. Roy might be a more polished player during his rookie year, but he doesn't have that kind of dominant Reke possessed right now.

Roy also came in with a few more years in college if I remember correctly.

Once Tyreke learns how to manipulate the defense, it's all over. right now he is beating them on plain skill, but once he is able to impose his will on a game, dominance is the order. How much fun is it going to be watching this kid grow up?

In those closing seconds I saw the defense and I knew they couldn't stop him from going to the hole. That's a great feeling to have a close to unstoppable guy in the 4th.

Mr. Evanshater. I'm just sayin....:p

Too bad I'm not the mod...I would of cut you lose for that one thread you made.
You are wrong. I don't hate any player that plays for the Kings. I'm hating the idea of Evans being wasted at PG spot.

P.S.
Don't you worry, mods are giving me a lot of hard times. I got myself more infractions then whole board together I guess.:(
