calling on kevin martin

Kings have a chance on Thursday to tie their season best at 5 (winning streak). Inching closer to the playoffs. Support Kevin Martin here!! If he wants to become a superstar in this league then right now would be a good time to start making his mark. It will be a challenge against the spurs. Artest is gone; and martin is now in a dark corner with arguably the best perimeter defender the league has seen since Scottie pippen. There is a bright side. Bowen wont be guarding mike bibby.

Eric Musselhead: Kenny Thomas is not a go to guy. I wonder if anyone on here has a connection in Arco Arena. With whoever runs the big monitor above the basketball court. Someone should hold a sign up saying "stop running plays for Kenny Thomas"

Calling on Kevin Martin

lol Definitely. BTW Bowen is about to get lit up like a christmas tree. He doesn't have the quickness to stay with Kevin.

BTW Hope Brad sets some hard picks on Bowen. Like the one Ridnour ran into during the 2005 playoffs.

Indeed. Kevin is very quick. Bowen is a great on the ball defender. Not many people succeed trying to take bowen off the dribble right off. Kevin has to work his way into the game. Brad has to set him up nicely and Kevin has to knock down the shots and get into the lane. Gain some confidence and he’ll be able to make more plays putting the ball on the floor. My 2 cents. This is a very important game for him. Wont make or break him, but he’s gonna have to start sometime

People should not make light of Bruce Bowen. He scares me more than just about any other player out there today...

I sure like seeing Martin against against Bowen a lot more than I ever liked Peja against Bowen.

Seriously. Stepping under a jumping player is part of his game. When most of the players he's guarded complain about the same thing, there's something there. I've seen enough replays to believe them. It's no accident.
Hey, it works to his advantage because it gets in players minds that he doesn't mind injuring the guy he guards. I just don't have respect for that kind of player though.

Dido...Enough said right there...

Martin will get more noticed once we improve as a team and move up in the standings. When your a team that's in the 9th slot ,your players dont get the recognition they would get if they were a top 6 seed team.

If i had to rank the West Shooting guards ,i would have Martin at 2 behind Kobe. T-mac is a small forward,so he does not count.

Ray Allen?

the first time i've ever seen bruce bowen play i knew exactly what he was all about. i never had an ounce of respect for him. players who play dirty aren't my idea of a good player. dont like ginobili because he whines more than kobe on the court. every time he "falls" he looks for the call and it annoys the heck out of me. just get up and play ball, but hey 3 rings speaks for itself.

So you're saying Kmart is better than Ray Allen right now.

They are almost on par I would say, K-mart being more efficient better at drawing the foul, might be even quicker.

But K-mart certainly isn't smarter and has alot of things to learn, he also needs to expand his defensive and offensive game.

But Kevin is young on the explosion while Ray Allen is old as Jesus Shuttleworth and you know what you're going to get from him.

So to kind-of answer, but not really answer your question, I would like to have K-mart instead of Allen at this point.

If you take the future out of the picture, then you have to take Allen. Just because Martin's more efficient at lower shot attempts doesn't mean those stats project the same way when the numbers are inflated. Ray's still the better shooter, passer, and scorer. So right now, the West shooting guards are ranked:

1. Kobe
2. Ray
3. Kevin
