He's always been controversial, and moreso after the grand jury situation, but it's not like he was widely hated. SOME fans may have lost faith in him, but a GREAT number still believed in him, what he can do on the court, etc.

On the contrary.

You said he "has rarely been appreciated." To me that sounded like you thought very FEW people were actually aware of how much he gave to the team, the town, etc.

Full contact practice means game-like conditions. You block, you charge, you dive for balls, etc. Webber has NOT been participating in full contact practice because the Kings coaching staff didn't want to take a chance on a stupid mistake IN PRACTICE resulting in an All-Star Power Forward never stepping on the court again. Apparently, O'Brien doesn't share those concerns. I have to wonder how Billy feels about it...

That's not why Chris Webber hasn't been participating in full contact practices. The reason why is because no coach runs full contact practices except Jim O'Brien. As far as I know. Most coaches work on offensive plays, work on traps and presses, maybe a little post work. Hell, full contact practices are basically like running an actual game! That's ri-friggin'-diculous.
