Not sure if Curry really deserves to be the #1 rookie in the west. Reke is kind of penalized for the team losing a lot of games, granted that Curry did play well in Jan.

As for Jennings, even though he's been shooting very poorly for a long time, there aren't any legit top rookies in the east to compete with him for the spot and thus he takes it again due to lack of competition. Most of the top rookies are in the west.

Though Jennings is 3/3 and Reke is 2/3, Reke should still take the ROY award.

Curry had fantastic numbers in January. He scored about 1.5 fewer points per game than Tyreke, and their assist numbers per game were equal, but he outrebounded Tyreke (4.4 vs. 3.5 per game) had more steals (2.0 vs. 1.6) and shot better percentages from the floor, the line...and a lot better from 3. Tyreke's A/T was better (2.2 to 1.9), which is a nice development for us, but Curry deserved it at least as much as Tyreke.

No worries, in February Tyreke will take the crown back! ;)

I agree that Curry has played much better than his own earlier months. I guess Curry gets it because he is a fresh player thats doing good and never got it yet. As a Kings fan I was also weighing the fact that the defense is targeting Reke every game while Curry is just a role player right now with Ellis drawing most of the attention.

It sucks that there is no real competition in the east for Jennings. Unless he averages below 15 and less than 5 ast for a month, I don't think any rookies in the east will take the ROM award from him.

I think the league will give it to Taj Gibson one of these months
