Brian Skinner

I was just thinking about Skinner today.

If he hadn't had to replace Brad and play as an undersized C, he would
have been a lot more effective. He was playing well when he first came but was
overused and fell apart at the end of the season.

Given a more realistic expectation and an off-season to get the system
down I expect good things from Skinner.

Another thing to consider is that he had BOTH thumbs jammed, which had to drastically limit his performance.

I don't think he'll ever be a true star but I think he could be useful. I think the true Skinner is something in between what we saw when he first arrived and what we saw at the end of the season.

Skinner is a good blcoker is not good enough to start. he is a great spark-plug off the bench and is a good 1-2 combo with Brad NOT on the starting line-up.

VF and BBall I agree with both points.

Skinny is not a real starter in this league. However a real center seems to be going away as of late. I think he can play a decent role as a backup. BOTH thumbs attached that is.

He's a solid defender and proven difference-maker. Coming off the bench next year, he should be a very valueable player if (and this has usually been "the if" with him) he can be lucky enough stay injury-free.
