Wow. WEll thats Skinner. He gave us a great first 3 weeks of his career as a iKings and then dissapreared. He will probably do that with Portland.

He disappeared because he sprained both this thumbs, then sprained his foot in the last game of the season vs. Phoenix. All that effected his play going into the playoffs, and in them.

He will indeed get regular PT in Portland.

Skinner's line at the half was: 8 pts, 6 boards, 2 blk, 13 1/2 minutes.

I'm glad he did well and I wish him every success in the world. And I'm still glad we're out from under his contract. It just didn't seem right to be paying that much to someone who just isn't playing. Heck, they can pay me HALF that to sit on the bench and not play...

;)

I think the frustration was that he probably could have played and helped in some situations for the Kings. At times he played well and still was benched. At times he disappeared and was benched. I don't really think it mattered waht he did, he was going to be stuck riding the pine....

If the guy played regularly, he would of been good for us. You have to get minutes consistently to be in the rhythm and with the speed of the game.

While I agree that Skinner (and TAG!) should have been used better, I have to agree with VF. We're better off to be out of the contract if the reality was that our coach wouldn't play him at all.

9 points 10 boards 2 assists 1 turnover in 36 mins and a win against the lakers

Why is that? If he plays he does well. THat was even proven last year. He needs a lot of minutes to do well, ala Thomas but when he did play for Brad last year during the injury he was pretty effective.

He did get hurt and that's when his effectiveness dropped. He is a quality player in the league, just didn't get minutes.

If he falls down the depth chart, he'll get similar stats to what he got in Sac-Town.

In the month of March last year, when he was healthy and started for Brad:

15 points 16 boards 3 blocks vs Cha
12 points 12 boards 3 blocks vs Det

14 points 11 boards 2 blcoks vs clippers
13 points 19 boards 3 block vs Philly

If he plays, he does produce. He if comes off the bench, he's never that great.

We don't need to wait and see, he's proved when he gets 20 + MPG he produces quite well. Bucks/Kings (March-April 05, few times this season)/So far with the Blazers. The latter will continue.

He simply got hurt with us, sprained thumbs, then a sprained foot the last game of the season. Went into the playoffs with both, it clearly effected his play and minutes.
