Boozer choses the Jazz

Doesn't sound like he's "choosing" the Jazz to me. Accepting his option to make sure he'll be an unrestricted free agent next year? It seems as if he is decidedly not choosing the Jazz, in my opinion.

Sounds like he had little choice -- Boozer is first, foremost, and always out for himself. In December "out for himself" meant opting out so he could get bigger $$. With the financial problems causing teams to cut back, "out for himself" now meant using his player option to guarantee a big paycheck next season. Either way its only a one year solution, and next summmer he'll go right back to being out for himself in that ultra-crowded free agent market.

Does eliminate one way for us to speed things up aorund here though. Always a longshot, but any salary dump to free up free agent money and then sign a major player sort of strategy needs there to actually be major players available, and Boozer was about the biggest.

Maybe he gave them the patented "Boozer Word of Honor" that he will extend next year. ;)

Absolutely! And everyone knows how much the "Boozer Word of Honor" is worth. That's right!.........

Diddly Squat!! :p

It's kind of weird reading this right after seeing that he's about to be divorced and that his ex-wife has the rights to half of every old contract, whereas she has no right to any new contract. Kind of doesn't quite add up.

Maybe she gets half of any contract he signs until the divorce goes through!
