Bonzi Wells

hope, he is doing good for the next three game, we really need him much much more for the next three games to be tough, take the ball, drive into basket, etc

I have to say of all our players this year, I am most impressed with him. When we started to falter the other night, and then he hurt his back ... did a few stretches, sucked it up and went back in - that had to affect the team spirit - both individually and as a group to see one guy give so much is inspiring. I think if we have any hope of getting somewhere this season it will be because Bonzi raises the bar.

Bonzi for leader??? I never thought I would say such a thing ever before the season began. But Bonzi for leader.

Bonzi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll take some with me tomorrow night, since I'll be at the game (woohoo!).

Hopefully, both streaks will continue -- the Kings' new win streak (yes, two games would be a streak), and my attendance streak (in my 27 1/2 years of life I've never been to a sporting event and had the team I was rooting for lose).

Still going strong. :D

Bonzi is amazing. I feel like a fool thinking that he was going to be a good fit and not be a big contributor. Boy was I wrong.

Keep up the good work Bonzi.

Question about Bonzi.

I want Bonzi to stay more then anything but at what price will we keep him?

How wants him?

Will he sign for the MLE because he is known as a cancer?

Just questions...... :D

Well, before coming here he had so many problems with other teams. I'm not saying that he is a cancer for our team but has a bad rap with the other teams he has been in.

I think Adelman is the reason Bonzi is finally playing up to his potential. I remember reading about some discussions that Adelman had with Bonzi, before he was traded for, and it was apparent that RA and Bonzi had developed some kinship. Something I was just pondering, and that it might be a good idea to keep RA around for awhile.

yup yup

i like the idea of bonzi wells as the kings leader. its such an odd concept that it almost makes sense. with leadership comes responsibility, but also a lot of respect. maybe bonzi really, honestly can turn his career around here in sacramento. maybe this isn't a honeymoon kindof deal. i'd sure love to see him stick around beyond this season.

Agreed. He has shown he can be a better player than we (or at least I) expected and maybe can be one of the new "core" along with SAR. I like his attitude and effort and, yes, leadership he seems to bring to the team.

I don't want to start a seperate thread on this, so I'll leave this comment here. In the game thread last night, I noted how I sick of how Bibby runs out the time at the end of the quarter or half a lot and doesn't pass it off, but dirbbles around and takes the last shot himself. I think he did it at the end of the half and the end of the 3rd or something.

In re-watching the clip of the winning play and following celebration, almost the whole team is running up and congratulating Bonzi. One person is missing though. Bibby. He has commented before, that he likes to be that guy with the ball in his hand with a couple seconds on the clock. He likes being the hero. Do you think he was a little miffed, or jealous a little that Bonzi was the man last night?

Heh, I was wondering if someone was going to comment on that. I almost did myself. Its always dangerous to attribute sentiments to people you don't know at all, but then again, I guess it's not dangerous at all because we're just some guys (and gals) on the internet.

Bibby does seem like the kind of guy who would have a chip on his shoulder about that kind of thing. He came into the season saying he wanted to be the leader, but people have long thought he does not really have leadership qualities. Bonzi is obviously the Golden Boy of this team right now, and he immediately brings heart, charm and vocabulary:p to the leadership picture. It seemed like Bonzi and Mike were getting along well at the beginning of the season, but as Bonzi becomes less and less the underdog, I think he is starting to encroach on what Mike was hoping would be his territory.

Personally I already kind of see Bonzi and Corliss as the leaders of this team, mostly because they are the only ones that come close to articulating thier thoughts like fully mentally capable humans in interviews. All this "Team Dime" stuff along with my previous feelings about mike make me think he's better off in the shadow of a strong, dynamic leader. Unfortunately those same feelings lead me to believe that he's not the type to gracefully allow a new guy like Bonzi to come in and be that leader.

EDIT: WTH? Where did this post go? Am I in the wrong thread?

I just talked to a friend. I guess from a different camera angle. As the shot went up...Bibby had his arms up and a big smil on his face..and he started doin his little dance and ran towards bonzi and the camera. I just didn't see that. So all is well.

Haha, alright, so much for our Days of Our Lifes-type speculation :p

Mike was jumping all over Bonzi and practically rode him off the court. I don't think there's a problem.

I noted Bibby runs out the time at the end of the game and doesn't pass it off, but dribbles around and takes the last shot himself. I observed that he did it at the end of the game for the last two seasons, every time when game was close and winning shot was needed. I also noted that couple time (2 or 3 times) he fell down while dribbling for the last shot (for 10 or more sec.) and then hit and missed almost from the ground out of desperation.
He definitelly wants to be the MAN by all means.
