3rd game in 4 nights for the Kings. Basically a talent vs athleticism. Something like against Clippers just that the legs are going to be heavier. Playing a team twice in 3 days is not easy - so beating clippers twice is a good accomplishment. Both games were very similar with the exact same end result - Kings victory.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blazers are a non - shooting team that is very athletic with a very dangerous front line, good shotblockers. They really can't shoot - so a nice zone could be a good strategy tonight. It will also depend on how much bench production we can get. Saying that - you have to use the bench to get production from it. We had our troubles with Portland in the past. Never really had them in control. Lost some home games too.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
CW - hope the leg is OK. You never know in th back to back situation what we are going to get from him. He had both, good and bad ack to back games. Played well against Clippers ofensively. Had trouble defending. Same thing might be expected tonight. Randolph is a tough matchup for anybody but so is Webber if he is OK.

Pedja - playing well on both ends of the floor with exception of rebounding. Maybe he is alergic to it. Maybe it is not that important to him. Who knows ? Needs to have a good game tonight.

Mike - looks like ankle is doing better. He will need it. Stoudamire had a
50 + game couple days ago. I assume there will be a lot of pick and role from Blazers and a lot of opportunities for Mike to go under screen. I am sure he will do well ofensively.

Mobley - nice game last night. good on both ends of the floor. I assume that turnovers will go down when he get more used to the system. Should have many open shots tonight.

Brad - seams to be still deep into puberty. Needs to shut up and play. Would be much better if he shoots more and talks less. Will be blocked several times tonight.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tag - does not get to play in both halves of the game. Have no idea why he can not get more minutes. Maybe if we get to play zone tonight he could be utilized more.

Darius - will do what needs to be done to win the game.

Evans - hopefully continues to recover from the "not so soft" landing. He became very important member in quite short time. Keep it up.

House - will play again, we will ask ourself again why? Seams to have some kind of purpose out there. Nobody really knows.

Martin - 3 straight DNP - CD fairly possible:rolleyes::mad:.

Rest of the bench belongs to the "Mateen club"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

RA looked very lost when Miller lost it in the 4th. I was glad that somebody was in charge:rolleyes:. Needs to make minutes for Martin. Probably won't. Hopefully, decides to play zone tonight.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yesterday was a good day for Kings. We won and Suns, Wolves and Lakers lost. We couldn't ask for more.

While this is usually true, this team is beat up right now. According to Portland radio, no Miles, Randolph, or Rahim. James Thomas (who?) will start at the PF tonight.
We should beat them soundly tonight. If not...it is not going to fun around Kingsfans.com tonight.

We "should" beat them from looking at their roster, however if we lose the rebounding battle and they manage to squeeze in 40+% shooting, look out :\ NVE always has All-Star type games against us. Should be interesting watching Mobley guard him. I would tentatively call that the match-up of the night.

Im hoping Theo Ratliff doesn't have a career night against us like he did last year. He blocked like 8 shots and rebounded like crazy in that game.

If we thought that the Clip Joint was athletic and could rebound, THAT was nothing compared to what Portland has. Ratliff and Patterson have been killing it lately. Mighty Mouse is playing with a new fire, and he's starting again in place of Anderson, so he has the green light and renewed confidence from the coaching staff...as was apparent when he lit it up for 54 last week. I hope we show up with our 'A' game tonight, because I think if we slip at all, it will cost us big time and we could get blown out in the Rose City.

The Blazers have lost 4 out of the last five...
Also we are not playing in the Rose City tonight, we're at Arco.

Oh, struggling teams seem to have good games against us, whether they win or lose...just because the Kings have a great knack of playing down to our opponents(broad, yet sometimes true generalization for the day*L*)

Heights for starting 5:

Pos Port Kings
PG 5' 10" 6' 1"
SG 6' 1" 6' 5"
C 7' 1" 7' 0"
SF 6' 5" 6' 10"
PF 6' 8" 6' 10"

We should dominate their starting 5. Peja and Bibby should be ok, Webber should have a field day against unknown Thomas. Mobley will have a height advantage over NVE, but in quickness NVE might be a notch above. Mobley is key to making this game "garbage-time-like" at the end. Hopefully gives KMart a chance to come in. :)

game is in SacTown

our frontline should completely manhandle there frontline...cuz theirs is pretty much non existent....im expecting big numbers from Chris and Peja

and Brad really needs a good game tonight

im not gonna sleep on this team though...even though they have been struggling of late...without all their stars and all

I'll be at the game tonight...

Blazers are an athletic team and we're on the second half of a back-to-back. This spells major trouble on the boards and I wonder how Webb will perform. In addition, I'm expecting Nick the Quick to go off for at least 35 points. :)

Me too. Who will be guarding Mighty Mouse? I wonder if his name is Mike Bibby <sigh> I really hope Bibby can defend him. Maybe I should call Bibby and tell him to at least put a hand in his defender's face and contest the shot.

I agree with PFFFT!!. Maybe Mobley vs NVE will be the matchup for tonight.

their backcourt is scary with Nick and Damon. It should prove to be a pretty good battle at both gaurd positions...Nick/Damon vs. Cat/Bibby. The battle will be won up front, though...if we rebound like we did the last two games(and for alot of the season), then we'll have to make up for it in another area.

I agree...plus, Blazer got a day of rest. They didn't play yesterday while the Kings fought the Clippers. Clippers' an athletic team too yet Kings were able to beat them. Will Zach Randolph be back for tonight's game? Let's continue this winning streak! :) GO KINGS!

Have fun at the game, Variant and Rock!

Who are the "athletic" players we are playing against tonight.
NVE... no
Damon... not really
Patterson...I guess
Thomas..oh, no
Prizbilla..no

Im expecting Webb to go crazy...NVE for 35 pts..no way.

Actually Rock, from past games, Bibby has held his own vs Stoud. Most of the time Bibby wins the matchup. Damon is a very streaky shooter, so hopefully he doesn't catch fire tonight ;)

The one thing about Damon is that when he is one of the 2 main options, shooting wise, he is more hot than not. The reason he has been a bit streaky the last few years is that he wasnt getting the looks he was earlier on in his career, and now he pretty much can shoot at will with all of the injuries up front for the Blazers, now that they need him and Van Exel to be the focal points in their offense. I think Damon is going to have a pretty good game tonight, for some reason, I think that both PG's will, actually. Van Exel and Mobley will be gnawing at each other all night, too...should be a pretty decent offensive showcase from both teams, I think.

I have the dual dvr from DishN ... But all the shows are on during the Kings game.

I will record Aidol, flip back and forth during Arace and miss Distraction. Dog the bounty is on at 11 and I will record it then.

See I have it all planned out :)

Isn't Shareef not playing either?
Yeah...on News10, they reported Shareef won't be playing too. They also said that it'll be the 6th and last game on this roadtrip for Blazers. They've been on a 6 games 10 days roadtrip. The Kings should be able to beat this game with no Shareef, Zack and Darius Miles. Come on, Kings!!
