--Mike gets player of the week baby! He's been on fire lately, we need him to play like this for the rest of the season, I def think his numbers will continue to go up know that he has to carry us. Keep it up Mike.

With Mike taking his fair share of Webber's numbers, he's got many more POTW ahead of him. A lock for next year's All-Stars.

Oh, definitely... but now our leading scorer and rebounder's out. I'm sure Bibby's shots per game will go up, and in the two games thus far it looks like Bibby's getting a lot of boards off "team rebounds" where our guys box out, instead of Webb's vacuum hands cleaning the glass. Not to mention 5 assists per game now up for grabs.

a co-worker of mine calls him "the assasin"........cold and deadly....I like it.....:)

WAY TO STEP UP MIKE!

It raises two interesting questions:

1) can he sustain at that level? If he can, those are superstar type numbers. I remain as convinced as ever that to win a championship you need to have an unstoppable superstar level player to lead you -- Mike has been it for a month and maybe he could give us a chance. Can he sustain?

2) The big red flag: we have really struggled over exactly the same time period Mike has been great. Now its very possible that the stuggles and Mike's greatness were caused by the same thing -- injuries. But its also a cautionary note: is super-Mike actually able to carry a team and make them win? Or are his numbers actually almost a bad sign? And that's against a backdrop of a lot of scoring PGs over the years who have never won an NBA title -- problem often being that while they score, they do not get their teammates involved enough. And of course a counter to that point is that offense is NOT our problem, and everyone is involved just fine -- we are losing on defense. And of course the counter to that counter ( :p ) is that maybe one of the reasons we are losing on defense is because Mike is spending so much energy on offense he doesn't have any to play defense with. And the counter to the counter to the counter is... ;)

 :D TEAM MVP!?!

I'm still suprised the West had only 1 PG. I guess that's why the West lost in the AS game, silly fools, you can't win a game no matter how silly without a floor leader unless you count Kobe as a floor leader :).

While I can't counter the counter to Brick's counter, I do think Bibby's resurgence is a good sign. Remember, he's the one who carried us the farthest in the playoffs, especially in 2002 when we went to game 7 of the WCF. He was our superstar then, and if he steps into this role now, I personally won't have a problem. In fact, I've been hoping for him to do this for a while now.

As for the team's struggles, I think it has as much to do with injuries and the factors you talked about than anything else (or at least I hope). I don't think this is similar to Webbs 50-20 game being a loss.

As an aside, I'm glad to see Rose get some recognition. He once said that the only way he'll be an All Star is for his team to go 82-0 and for him to be playing well. Well Jalen, you went 3-0 and you got player of the week. It's a start...

Small consolation when he should have gone to the AllStar this year. At least he used the AllStar for a good rest. Lets hope he'll have enough gas for the post season.

If Bibby steps into this role, would Peja have a "fit"? *sigh* I hope not. :\

Yeah, that's the problem with looking at the playoff model. Not only do we not have Webb anymore, but Peja was almost a nonfactor in many of the playoff stats.

What encourages me is that Bibby has continued his high level of play AFTER the trade of his good friend. No slight on Peja, but after Vlade was let go, Peja has fumbled his way through. But this has not happened to Mike Bibby. I am looking forward to seeing how Bibby, Jackson and Mobley adjust when they get together on the court.

Purple Reign, love your signature! ;)

That's funny! Winning 82 games to be an All Stars!? :D Congrats to Jalen for POTW. :)

Bibby has got to be the most underrated and underappreciated point guard in the league... I"m glad to see he got recognition... he deserves more
