Bibby Opting out would be beneficial (cont.)

Look at a few teams like the Bulls and Suns. They've been able to acquire every high draft picks via Sign and trades. Generally it appears that thru Sign and trades to do teams get good value in return. Hopefully bibby can start playing better and end up signing with someone like the Knicks or the hawks or even raptors.

It is obviously apparent we need to start over. Like everyone says, Martin, Artest and Price seem like players we would keep and develop. The key is getting a big man. Free agency isn't going to provide that option for a few years at the minimum...the draft is the way to go. Joakim Noah has so much energy, he'd make us 10 times better defensively. Greg Oden, well...i dont need to comment on how this franchise would change with a Center like that...

Or he could just sign with Team X straght up, and leave us holding the bag again, same way Cat did. Same way Bonzi did. Straight pure talent bleed.

It's not the same -- in those instances the Kings could do nothing because they were over the cap. If Bibby left the Kings could sign players in free agency using the money Bibby freed up. In many respects, given the way Bibby is playing, they could probably do better with that $12-15 mil than they could by paying Bibby another two seasons.

There's no guarantee the Kings could get a good replacement, of course, but it's not the same thing as the Bonzi/Cuttino situations.

Unlikely withthe amount money bibby thinks he will command....and thus would require sign/trade

Getting Bibby for nothing would be awful... People are really down on this guy right now, but he's a gamer and like it or not he is playing injured. Why a hand injury makes him shoot MORE three's is beyond me, but regaurdless he doesn't complain, he shows up every game, and he has been a class act for Sacramento. I want Bibby here unless it's in the best interest of the team to trade him for someone better.

You guys are so spoiled. You've had one of the best point guards on the league for years and before that you had jason williams (who at least was fun to watch) and before that you had mitch richmond.

Here in H-Town, the last time we had a true point guard that was half-way decent was John Lucas. To put that in perspective, John Lucas's son currently plays for us. Yes we've gone through an entire generation without a top-notch point guard.

I swear if he goes, all of you will be whining about what a big loss that was.

Agree with supermariO and sk384.

The sentiment towards Bibby has been pretty bad lately. I know his play doesn't help some fans calm down, but I think a lot of people are being very reactive in just wanting to make a change just for the sake of making a change. Before, the mantra was we need a big man, now it's trade Bibby because we need a point guard.

If we could get KG or something that would definitely improve the team, then Bibby should get traded. But trading him just to trade him and expecting to get an upgrade at the guard spot is pretty.... ridiculous IMHO.
