Best Italian Food in Sac...

I'd have to give this award hands down to Seritellas. Totally home-style, family run, and breadsticks that are to die for. Great service too. :)

uhhh...Serritella's on Fair Oaks Blvd.?? Sorry to be the voice of dissent, but I would mark them as 'used to have the best Italian food in Sacramento'. Growing up, they were the best. However, I went there a couple of years ago and they had completely changed, and not for the better IMHO. It went from the great traditional red-and-white checked tablecloths and red Italian candles to linen tablecloths and a silly 'chic' atmosphere. And the food went the same way. None of out entrees tasted anything like they were supposed to. I was so disappointed. Pasquale's down the street from there is pretty good and still traditional. Too bad DiCicco's closed recently. I don't know about any other really decent Italian restaurants in the area.

Does anyone else like Buca di Beppos? It's good as long as you're dining with AT LEAST 4 to 5 people..(family style ordering)

good...I'm glad I found others who love it!...all my friends don't seem to like it that much but I LOVE it! Oh yeah I also like Il Fornaio....the one at the Galleria and the one Downtown in the Wells Fargo building are both good I think...they have GREAT wine and desserts...you know, the stuff that matters..;)

Hmmm...Buca is about as good as the Old Spaghetti Factory. :p (not very good IMHO) I would also like to find a good Italian restaurant in Sac.

I love the Old Spaghetti Factory...good food and cheap!

This is a tough one. Biba's in Sacramento is supposed to be the best Italian restaurant in town. Friends rave about the place, but I have not eaten there. Italian restaurants come and go in Sacramento. Some of the great old mom and pop places are gone.

I think Viconte's in Folsom is the best one that is still open that I have actually visited. We go to Vince's in West Sacramento because my wife's family lives there. Much like Roma's Pizza, the Club Pheasant, and the Espanol, Vince's has not changed a bit in 30 years.

My wife and I have scheduled a family-style dinner Italian dinner at the Sequoia in Placerville for 26 guests. The Sequoia is an outstanding restaurant, not cheap, but possibly the best in the region. They don't normally stage family-style dinners, so this ought to be special. They even allow me to bring my own wine without a corkage fee ander a special arrangement for local home-wine makers.

Biba's has really great Italian food. However, the atmosphere is so snotty and pretentious that one can't enjoy a comfortable dining experience there. Also there is Zelda's in mid-town, although they are mainly pizza. And their no-nonsense service is a kick! I have always wanted to go to Vince's in West Sacto. Those old, family-run Italian restaurants are the best.

There is a Vince's that is my alltime favorite, but it is not affiliated with any up here. It's down in Ontario and EVERY time I go down to visit my family, I HAVE to eat there!
I'll be going down for my birthday next month and I'm making my family go there before they take me to the airport on my way home. Hey..it's my birthday wish..dang it! :D (Man..I'm hungry now!)
