What crisis: Maloof Sports and Entertainment -- owner of the Kings and Monarchs basketball teams -- is looking for a vice president of communication. Mark Gress, the executive headhunter leading the search, notes that the successful candidate must be good at brand management, Microsoft Office products and handling the media, among other skills. Oh, and the winner must have at least seven years experience in "corporate communications and crisis management," the job description says. Mark won't comment on the search, but his recruitment pitch makes it sound as if the Kings are staying in Sacramento. "The Maloof family's primary goal is striving toward complete customer and employee satisfaction and keeping a long-term commitment to the Sacramento fans and community," it reads. Salary negotiable. Serious inquiries only. ...

I would love to see R.E. Graswich's job description -- adequate writing ability, simplisitic world view a must, seven years of Kings bashing experience required

7? Hell, I remember R.E. bashing the Kings constantly as their bleeping beat writer back when I still lived in Sacto. He's got two decades under his belt at this point -- nobody better qualified. I was always curious how a sportswriter (initially) could have ended up with that attitude given that before they showed up in town his big chance to shine would have been once a year covering the annual Pig Bowl.
