It's nice that we can visit with each other once in a while, don't you think?

If Vlade Divac is voted into the Hall of Fame, will he go in wearing a Lakers or Kings uniform? Can you tell me which way he will go? - J.T.

Hadn't even considered it - Divac for the Hall, that is, not which uniform he'd choose.

It's not such an out-of-orbit suggestion. Vlade already is considered one of the best passers among big men in NBA history, and he was clearly at the forefront of the globalization of the league, behind Arvydas Sabonis but ahead of an entire generation of Euros, Aussies and Yao Mings.

He'd have to be voted in based upon his overall impact on the league, though. Vlade wasn't a good enough defender or prolific enough scorer to be considered an elite player. As important as he was to the Kings, that's just a bridge too far, basketball-wise. But to answer the question: He'd go in as a Laker if he needed to choose. They're the first team he played for and his employer in his post-retirement days. The fans mostly still love him at Arco Arena, but that's a no-brainer for the big man.

I think his heart lied in California, to tell you the truth. He never wanted to be traded, his family didn't want to be uprooted. Why squabble over him joining the LA staff under some nebulous capacity considering that he was one of the few players who would've even considered touching Sacramento in 98?

It's not squabbling. It's coming to terms with the inevitable fact that while he was first in our hearts, we weren't first in his... Not that it's wrong, it's just hard to accept because he DID mean so very much to us and our team.

Vlade does care a lot about Sacramento and the Kings. I think it's pretty obvious. I guess sharing him with the Lakers is better than never having him at all.

;)

What I don't get is how Sabonis is more important than Divac in terms of bringing Euros to the NBA. If anyone it is Petrovic, Kukoc, Divac and Schrempf.
